TurnTable charts is a catalog of relative weekly, and yearly popular songs in Nigeria. The results are published in TurnTable magazine. TurnTable provides additional weekly charts, as well as the End of the Year Top 50. The charts can be ranked according to airplay, and digital streaming. For main song charts such as the TurnTable Top 100, all three data are used to compile the charts. For End of the Year Top 50, streams and airplay from TurnTable Top 100 are included.
On 3 July 2020, TurnTable magazine launched the TurnTable Chart, with its weekly official chart TurnTable Top 50, first led by Wizkid "Ginger" featuring Burna Boy, on the number one spot. The chart combines single sales (digital and physical), radio airplay, and online streaming activity (including data from YouTube, Boomplay Music, Audiomack, Apple Music, Deezer and Spotify).
In March 2021, TurnTable announce its partnership with City FM 105.1, for the syndication of TurnTable Top 50. As the weekly results will be announced on City 105.1 FM radio show City Cafe, hosted by Melody Hassan. [1] On 12 March 2021, TurnTable Charts partnered with WeTalkSound, and launched the Recording Certification of Nigeria. [2] [3] On 21 May 2021, Turntable Charts announced its partnership with The Aristokrat Group. As the partnership allows both companies collaborate in the exchange of data and ideas to improve music consumption, documentation, and chart culture in Nigeria. [4] On 24 May 2021, Turntable Charts announce its partnership with Chocolate City, as both companies will exchange data and ideas in improving music consumption, documentation, and chart culture in Nigeria. [5] On 14 July 2021, TurnTable announced its first direct partnership between TurnTable Chart, and Boomplay. As its partnership allows, Boomplay to distribute its data on the most streamed songs in Nigeria. [6]
On 30 December 2021, Oye Akideinde and Bizzle Osikoya joined TurnTable as executives. [7] [8] On 31 March 2022, TurnTable began collecting data from Apple Music, Deezer and Spotify into its charts. [9] It also announce the expansion of the TurnTable Top 50 chart, into Top 100 in June 2022. [9]
On 3 July 2020, TurnTable Top 50 was launched to measure the trends and performance of songs in Nigeria. [10] On 6 July 2020, Airplay Top 50 was launched to incorporate radio airplay data provided by Radiomonitor over the week. The TurnTable Airplay Top 50 chart blends total numbers of plays on the radio from over 50 radio stations in Nigeria. [11] On 14 July 2020, TurnTable magazine launched Top 50 Streaming Songs, to monitor the most streamed weekly song on digital platforms. [12]
On 21 August 2020, Top Triller Chart Nigeria was launched in collaboration with Triller. It highlights the most popular songs on the video based app on a methodology that blends the amount of views containing a respective songs, the level of engagement with those videos and the raw total of videos uploaded featuring each song, according to Triller’s data. [13] On 7 September 2020, TurnTable TV Top songs was launched to monitor top 50 songs from 5 cable television channels (data sourced from Radiomonitor/Media Planning Service). [14] [15] On 14 September 2020, TurnTable Digital Song Sales was launched to combine sales of physical and digital sells of songs for a summarized figure. [16]
On 31 March 2022, TurnTable announce the expansion of the TurnTable Top 50, into Top 100. The chart expansion will be supported by TurnTable Top 200, [9] as the official album-based chart, and the TurnTable Top Artiste 100, [9] to watch the performance based on the artiste. The TurnTable Top 100, Top 200, and Top Artiste 100, launched in June 2022. On 27 May 2022, TurnTable launched the "Next Rated Leaderboard", in the first quarter of its yearly issue, based on the cumulative ranking of the best performing new artiste, published monthly by TurnTable, with data based on its total streams across streaming services, radio, and TV. These are artistes that would be eligible for The Headies Next Rated award. [17]
On July 11, 2022, following the expansion of the TurnTable Top 50, into the Top 100, the Airplay Top 50, was renamed to Top Radio Songs. The chart was launched on 13 July 2022 and began ranking the 100 top songs on the radio. The TV Top songs were also renamed to Top TV Songs, and began ranking the top 100 songs on TV. The Top 50 Streaming Songs were also renamed to Top Streaming Songs, and began ranking top 100 songs on digital streaming. On 8 November 2022, the album's official chart, began operation as the current TurnTable Top 50 chart instead of TurnTabel Top 200, as announced in March. [18] The Nigeria album chart employs the same metrics as the Top Streaming Songs chart. [18]
On 6 February 2023, Ayomide Oriowo, and Kayode Babatola announce the launching of TurnTable Top Catalog Songs, to begin operation on 8 February 2023. [19] TurnTabe Charts also launched in Nigeria a certification system based on on-demand streaming and digital downloads. Paid streams weigh more than ad-supported streams when it comes to on-demand streaming. [20]

On 30 June 2021, TurnTable and The Native launched their summer chart. [21] On 6 September 2021, TurnTable charts published the final issue of the chart with Wizkid "Essence", emerging as number 1 on Global chart, [22] Master KG "Jerusalema", topping the African chart, [23] and Ladipoe "Feeling" leading the Songs of the Summer chart. "Feeling" is a song by Nigerian musicians Ladipoe and Buju. It was released by Mavin Records, through Mavin Global Holdings on 7 May 2021. The song was written by Ladipoe and Buju, and produced by Andre Vibez. "Feeling" spent four consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Nigerian TurnTable Top 50 chart, and became the most played song on Nigeria radio from 26 May to 13 July 2021. The song peaked at number 1 on the TurnTable Top 50 Streaming Songs and peaked at number 3 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. On 14 July 2022, it debut at number 6 on TurnTable newly launched Top Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.
The TurnTable Top 100 Songs is the music industry standard record chart in Nigeria for songs, published weekly by TurnTable magazine. Chart rankings are based on airplay and online streaming in Nigeria. In its opening year, TurnTable charts listed 50 positions, but later expanded its chart ranking to 100 on the second half of 2022.
The Aristokrat Group, headquartered in Port Harcourt, is an African Media and Entertainment company, known for housing a record label and music publishing company, digital media company, tour and concert production company and a creative consulting and solutions agency. The company is headed by its Founder, Piriye Isokrari.
Chukwuka Chukwuma Ekweani, better known by his stage name Ckay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer signed to Warner Music South Africa and Atlantic Records. He was formerly signed to Chocolate City, a member of Warner Music Group independent label services ADA. His international hit single "Love Nwantiti", also known as "Love Nwantiti ", was released in 2019 by Chocolate City. On 29 March 2022, the song debuted at number one, following the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart. On 9 May 2022, it became the first-ever African song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify and has since been deemed "the biggest hit in African history".
Nigerian Afrobeats singer CKay has released one studio album, three EPs, eleven singles, and one promotional single. CKay started his music career with Loopy Music, as a record producer. Following the merger between Loopy Music and Chocolate City, he automatically joined Chocolate City roaster. His production credits include M.I Abaga's "Your Father", Koker's "Give Them", Yung6ix's "Everything Gucci", Dotman's "Tonight", and Bisola's "Controlla". He is currently signed to Warner Music Africa, and Atlantic Records.

Its data, published by TurnTable magazine, is based collectively on each single's weekly physical and digital sales, as well as airplay and streaming. At the end of a year, TurnTable publishes an annual list of the 50 most successful songs throughout that year on its top 50 charts based on the information. The 2020 edition was published on 30 December 2020, calculated with data from 1 January to 14 December 2020.
"Peru" is a song by Nigerian singer Fireboy DML. It was released on 20 July 2021, through YBNL Nation, and distributed by Empire. "Peru" was written by Fireboy DML, Ivory Scott, & Kolten Perine and produced by Shizzi & Perine. On 23 December 2021, a reworked version of "Peru" was released, in collaboration with English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The music video for the version with Sheeran was released on 24 December 2021. An additional remix, featuring rappers 21 Savage and Blxst was also later released. The song was nominated at the 7th annual African Entertainment Awards USA for Song of the Year. The song is not about the country of Peru, but rather a reference to Nigerian singer Peruzzi; the government of Peru nonetheless reacted positively to the song on Twitter.

TurnTable is a Nigerian music and entertainment magazine founded by Ayomide Oriowo, and Similoluwa Adegoke. TurnTable focuses primarily on music charts, news, and events. Its music charts include the Top 100, and the Year-End chart. TurnTable magazine has two issues, and its first issue was published on 19 December 2020, by Similoluwa Adegoke. Its issues are printed in English language. In 2023 the magazine launched its music recording certification, TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria to represent the recording certification system of music industry in Nigeria.
"With You" is a song by Nigerian Afropop singer Khaid, released on 28 January 2022. The song was produced by Nigerian record producer Prodby106, Ozekidus, and Z3na. It was ranked at number 8 on TheCable's list of 10 TCL radio pick of the week, and debuted on number 48 on TurnTable Top 50 chart. As of April 2022, "With You" has received 10.5 million streams on Boomplay.
"Love Don't Cost a Dime" is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter Magixx, from his eponymous debut EP Magixx. It was officially released as a single on 24 September 2021 by Mavin Records. The song was written by Magixx, and produced by Lomon. A new version of the song titled "Love Don't Cost a Dime (Re-Up)" featuring Nigerian singer Ayra Starr was released as a single in 2022.
"Yawa No Dey End" is a song by Nigerian singer-songwriter Majeeed, on his debut extended play Bitter Sweet. It is the third song on the EP, released officially on 25 March 2022 by Dream Empire Music, through Dvpper Music. A new version of the song featuring Joeboy, was released by Dream Empire Music, and licensed through Mr Eazi's emPawa Africa.
"Stand Strong" is a song by Nigerian singer Davido. It was released on 13 May 2022, through Davido Music Worldwide and Sony Music Entertainment UK. "Stand Strong" was written by Davido and The Samples, a member of the American gospel group Sunday Service Choir, and produced by Pheelz. The music video was released on 25 May 2022. The song peaked at number 6 on TurnTable Top 50 chart, and reached number 9 on both the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and UK Afrobeats Singles chart.
"Sugarcane" is a song by Ghanaian singer and songwriter Camidoh, featuring the Nigerian record producer Phantom, released in 2021 by Grind Don't Stop Records, through Crux Global, and MOVES Recordings. A remix, with Mayorkun, and Darkoo, featuring the Ghanaian singer King Promise, was released in 2022. The song gained popularity across TikTok, following the release of the remix.
Ekeh Chiaka Joseph known professionally as Majeeed is a Nigerian afropop singer and songwriter signed to Dream Empire Music. He is known for his breakthrough single "Yawa No Dey End", released in 2022 as the lead single off his extended play Bitter Sweet. On 29 April 2022, a new version of "Yawa No Dey End", was released with Joeboy, through Dream Empire Music, and emPawa Africa, which peaked at number 41 on the Nigeria TurnTable Top 50 chart, on the week of May 9, 2022.
"Watawi" is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter CKay, featuring fellow Nigerian singer Davido, alongside a South African rapper Focalistic, and record producer Abidoza. It was released on 17 June 2022, by Warner Music Africa. "Watawi" was written by CKay, Davido, Focalistic, and Abidoza, who also produced the song. It accompanied by a music video directed by Dalia Dias. It debuted at number 13 on the TurnTable Top 50, number 21 on the US Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart, and number 6 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.
"Danca" is a song by Nigerian musician AcebergTM, on his debut extended play Far from Home. It is the lead song on the EP, released officially on 26 March 2021 by SJW Entertainment, and distributed through ONErpm. Written by AcebergTM and produced by Kel-P. Characterized as a blend of Afropop and Amapiano, with lyrics about a hot and spicy lady who has the moves to put on him. The song received mostly positive reviews from music critics and peaked on 31 May 2021, at number thirty-three on TurnTable Top 50.
Mr. Money with the Vibe is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Asake, following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022. It was released on 7 September 2022 through Empire Distribution. The album comprises 12 tracks, which were all produced by Magicsticks. The album features two guest appearances from Russ and Burna Boy. Two other tracks which have been previously released as singles from the album are "Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)" and "Terminator" which were released in June 2022 and August 2022 respectively. This album release is a follow-up to his extended play Ololade Asake which was released in February 2022 immediately after being signed by Olamide to YBNL. Following the album's release, it peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart in September 2022.

It is compiled every Tuesday by a Nigeria-based music digital streaming tracking company and published every Tuesday by TurnTable magazine. The list shows the 50 best-streaming music albums of the moment in Nigeria. The first issue of the Nigeria Top 50, was launched on Tuesday, 8 November 2022, and the first number-one album was Mr. Money with the Vibe by Asake.
