U1 Records is an Indian music company, founded by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. [1]
Yuvan Shankar Raja launched his own music label, U1 Records, and public YouTube page in 2015. [2] The label has associated itself with film soundtrack albums and singles by independent artists. [3]
Yuvan launched the website for U1 Records on 10 February 2021, in order to facilitate independent talents to reach the label to show their talent to the world along with exclusive news and pictures.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer-songwriter. He mainly scores music for Tamil films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu which included mixed EDM and jazz styles of music. He is frequently referred to as the "BGM King", and the "Young Maestro" of Tamil Film Music. Yuvan has won two Filmfare Awards South, five Mirchi Music Awards South, four Vijay Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Prem Kumar Gangai Amaren, better known as Premgi, is an Indian playback singer, composer, songwriter, actor and comedian. The son of composer and director Gangai Amaran, he often composes rap songs in Tamil cinema and is known for his comical performances in his elder brother Venkat Prabhu's films. His stage name, Premgi, is actually a spelling error, as it is meant to be "Prem G.",. He is also best known for his catchphrases Enna Koduma Sir Idhu ? and Evvalavo pannitom, itha panna mattoma, the former being a modified version of a famous dialogue used by Prabhu in Chandramukhi (2005).
Kadhal 2 Kalyanam is an unreleased Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by newcomer Milind Rau that stars debutante Sathya, brother of Tamil actor Arya, and Divya Spandana, whilst, Jayashree, Nagendra Prasad, Kasthuri and Anuja Iyer play pivotal roles. Noted film critic Baradwaj Rangan had written the dialogues, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film's score and soundtrack. The cinematography and editing were handled by P. S. Vinod and Leo John Paul, respectively. Pre-production works began by mid-2008, while the filming continued for over one year, being completed by July 2010. The film was jointly produced by Mirchi Movies and East Coast Entertainment, who are now not in the film-making business. Hence the movie remains unreleased.
Pathinaaru (transl. Sixteen) is a 2011 Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy, who previously directed the films V.I.P (1997), Punnagai Poove (2003) and A Aa E Ee (2009). It stars Shiva and Madhu Shalini. The film's background score and soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. After being launched in October 2008 under the title 16, the film was shot for over one year, wrapping in early 2010. A year after completion, Kalaipuli S. Thanu bought the distribution rights and released the film on 28 January 2011 under his V. Creations banner. However, it was financially unsuccessful. Despite that, it was remade as Jolly Boy in Kannada language.

Idam Porul Yaeval is an unreleased Indian Tamil language drama film directed by Seenu Ramasamy and produced by N. Lingusamy. It features Vijay Sethupathi and Vishnu Vishal alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Nandita Swetha in the lead cast. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music. The film remains unreleased for almost a decade due to financial difficulties.

The film also features Karthi, its protagonist, debuting as a Playback singer. After multiple postponements, the soundtrack album was released on 21 August 2013.

It was released by Aditya Music label on 1 September 2014 in a promotional event held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad.

Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Elan, and produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja, under the banner YSR Films, who also composed music for the film. Co-produced by S. N. Rajarajan under the banner K Productions. The film stars Harish Kalyan and debutant Raiza Wilson. The film marked the first project of both the lead actors, after rising to fame from the television series Bigg Boss Tamil. Anand Babu, Pandian, Rekha, Ramadoss and Subbu Panchu appear in supporting roles. The film's cinematography was handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, with editing done by S. Manikumaran. The film was launched in December 2017, along with the commencement of principal photography, and was completed in June 2018. The film released on 10 August 2018, to a positive response from the audience as well as critics, praising the lead actors' performances, the screenplay, and the film's soundtrack. The film became a commercial success. The film won two Filmfare Awards South and two SIIMA Awards, including the Best Debut Actress Award for Raiza in both ceremonies.
Maanaadu is the soundtrack for the 2021 Tamil-language science fiction action thriller film of the same name, starring Silambarasan, S. J. Suryah and Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi of V House Productions. The film's soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, after regularly collaborating with Venkat Prabhu and Silambarasan and lyrics are written by Madhan Karky and Arivu. The album featured two songs: "Meherezylaa" and "Voice of Unity", which did not featured in the film. These tracks were released as singles on 21 June and 3 November 2021; coinciding a promotional pre-release event held in Chennai. The music album consisting of 7 tracks, including few instrumentals being used in the background score was released on 7 November 2021 by U1 Records, and received positive response from critics and audiences.
Valimai (transl. Power) is the soundtrack album composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja for the 2022 Tamil-language action thriller film of the same name, directed by H. Vinoth. Produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios, the film stars Ajith Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Kartikeya Gummakonda. The soundtrack album featured five songs written by Vignesh Shivan, Thamarai and Arivu and released by Sony Music on New Year's Day.
Moondru Per Moondru Kadal is the soundtrack album for 2013 Indian Tamil-language romance film of the same name starring Arjun, Cheran, Vimal, Surveen Chawla, Muktha Bhanu and Lasini. The film’s cinematography and editing were handled by Bhojan K. Dinesh and S. N. Fazil respectively. The film features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Vasanth hired him as the composer, with whom he had previously worked in Poovellam Kettuppar (1999) and his last project Satham Podathey (2007).
