Sahaya Sheelan Shadrach (born 24 March 1966) [2] known by his screen name Sadhu Kokila, is an Indian comedian, musician, actor, film director and producer, and an occasional screenwriter and lyricist who works in Kannada cinema. He began his career as a composer before taking to acting in films, appearing mostly in comic roles. He has also directed ten Kannada films, the most notable one being Raktha Kanneeru (2003). [3]
As a composer, he is a two-time recipient of the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director, which he won for Rakshasa (2005) and Inthi Ninna Preethiya (2008). As an actor, he has received multiple nominations and awards in the category of Best Comedian in the South Indian International Movie Awards.
Sadhu Kokila was born as Sahaya Sheelan on 24 March 1966 into a Tamil Nadar Christian family of Natesh and Mangala in Bangalore in the Indian State of Mysore (now Karnataka). [2] He was born to a family of musicians with father being a violinist in a music band of Karnataka Police Department, his mother and sister being playback singers. Sadhu Kokila's brother Layendra is also an actor. Kokila studied in St. Joseph's Indian High School, Bangalore. He was given the stage name Sadhu Kokila by Upendra, the director of Sheelan's debut film Shhh! . [1]
Kokila began his career as a musician after he was taken to musician Kasturi Shankar by his brother. He is also one of the fastest keyboard players in India.
Kokila married Saleena in 1993. They have two children together, Suraag and Srujan. [1]

Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar is an Indian director, actor, screenwriter and a lyricist who predominantly works in Kannada Cinema. He made his film debut as a screenplay writer in Kadina Benki (1986) which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and the Karnataka State Award. His directorial debut was Undu Hoda Kondu Hoda (1991) for which he won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Story.

Om, stylized as ॐ, is a 1995 Indian Kannada-language action crime film written and directed by Upendra. The film was produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar under the production company Sri Vajreshwari Combines. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar and Prema with Srishanthi, G. V. Shivanand, Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles with real-life gangsters - Bekkina Kannu Rajendra, Tanveer, Korangu Krishna and Jedaralli Krishnappa - portraying the role of gangsters in a small but important portion of the movie.

H2O is a 2002 Indian Kannada-language bilingual film directed by debutants N. Lokanath and Rajaram. The film's script was written by Upendra, who stars in the lead role with Prabhu Deva and Priyanka Trivedi, along with Babu Mohan, Sadhu Kokila and Bank Janardhan portraying supporting roles. The film was dubbed in Tamil as H2O Kaveri and was produced by Dhanraj under Dhanraj Films.

Laali Haadu(transl. Song of lullaby) is a 2003 Indian Kannada-language romantic musical film directed by H. Vasu and written by Ajay Kumar. The film stars Darshan and Abhirami. The film was produced by Sa Ra Govindu under his home production Thanu Pictures. Two music directors V. Manohar and Rajesh Ramanath were seen in supporting roles.
Rakshasa (transl. Demon) is a 2005 Indian Kannada-language crime thriller film directed by Sadhu Kokila, written by Ranganath and produced by Ramu. The film features Shiva Rajkumar and Gajala in the lead roles along with Ruthika, Amrutha, Kishore and Rangayana Raghu in other pivotal roles.
Zoom is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film directed by Prashant Raj starring Ganesh and Radhika Pandit in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Sadhu Kokila and Kashinath. The music is scored by S. Thaman and cinematography is by Santhosh Rai Pathaje. The film released on 1 July 2016 across Karnataka to mixed reviews. The movie is a remake of 1961 movie Lover Come Back. The director remade the movie in Tamil in 2023 as Kick.

Raajakumara is a 2017 Indian Kannada-language action drama film directed by Santhosh Ananddram and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. It stars Puneeth Rajkumar, alongside Priya Anand. R. Sarathkumar, Ananth Nag, Prakash Raj, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Achyuth Kumar and Avinash. The music was composed by V. Harikrishna, while cinematography and editing were handled by A. Venkatesh and K. M. Prakash.
