UNCOVER

Last updated

UNCOVER is a deep-sky near-infrared survey programme for the James Webb Space Telescope. "UNCOVER" is an involuted acronym which includes portions of the acronyms of its two instruments, NIRSpec and NIRCam, thus: Ultradeep NIRSpec and NIRCam ObserVations before the Epoch of Reionization. [1]

The JWST UNCOVER Treasury Survey saw first light on 2022 November with that of Pandora's Cluster, [2] its current subject, [3] [4] and in 2025 imaged the most distant gravitionally lensed black hole found to date: QSO1. [5] [6] [7]
