The third edition of UTS took place from October 16 to October 18, 2020. It had 2 groups of 3 players in a round-robin format, where the top players of each group advanced to the final. The Women's edition did not return.
"The Lion" Alexander Zverev was the defending champion, but decided not to participate.
"The Demon" Alex de Minaur won the event, defeating "The Virtuoso" Richard Gasquet 24–9, 15–14, 20–10 in the final. De Minaur was the first player to win the event without dropping a quarter. [1]

Richard Gabriel Cyr Gasquet is a French professional tennis player. His career-high ATP singles ranking is world No. 7, attained on 9 July 2007. He has won 16 singles titles on the ATP Tour, tied for eighth most among active players. He is also fourth among active players with over 600 career match wins. His best performances in Grand Slam singles tournaments have been three semifinal appearances, two at the Wimbledon Championships and once at the US Open. His best performance in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 singles tournaments was being the runner-up in Hamburg in 2005 and Toronto in 2006 and 2012. He won the mixed doubles title at the 2004 French Open, partnering with Tatiana Golovin. He also won the men's doubles Olympic bronze medal in 2012 with his doubles partner Julien Benneteau. Gasquet is best known for his elegant groundstrokes and his one-handed backhand.

Jannik Sinner defeated Alex de Minaur in the final, 4–2, 4–1, 4–2 to win the 2019 Next Generation ATP Finals.
Adrian Mannarino defeated Jordan Thompson in the final, 7–6(9–7), 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2019 Rosmalen Grass Court Championships. It was Mannarino's maiden ATP Tour singles title in his seventh final. Thompson was also contesting for his maiden title.

With the win, Djokovic regained the world No. 1 singles ranking, and became the first player since Ken Rosewall to win major titles in three different decades, and the first to do so in the Open Era. The match also marked the first time Djokovic came back to win a major final after trailing two sets to one, having lost each of the last seven times this happened. Thiem became the first Austrian to reach the final. This was Thiem's third runner-up finish in as many major finals. The final also marked the first time in the Open Era that three consecutive men's major finals went to five-sets, following the finals at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships and the 2019 US Open.
