D-D-Don't Don't Stop the Beat is the first studio album by Danish pop duo Junior Senior. The band chose to record the album at Clouds Hill studios, in Hamburg, Germany. Justin Gerrish, famous for his work with Vampire Weekend, produced the final mix in New York City.
Pwr Bttm, stylized PWR BTTM, was an American queer punk duo formed in 2013 at Bard College by Ben Hopkins and Liv Bruce. The duo's debut album, Ugly Cherries, was released in 2015. Their second studio album, Pageant, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim. Pageant's release was preceded by sexual abuse allegations against Ben Hopkins, which led to the duo being dropped by both Polyvinyl and Big Scary Monsters. Pwr Bttm denied the allegations and the band broke up that same year after a falling out between its two members.

Originally released by Polyvinyl and Big Scary Monsters, the album's release was preceded by sexual abuse allegations against Pwr Bttm member Ben Hopkins. Both labels dropped the band from their rosters and ceased production and distribution of Pageant, providing refunds to those who pre-ordered the record. Pageant was also pulled from music streaming services. The album debuted on the UK Indie Chart on May 19, 2017, at no. 46.
