The Ranji Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket championship played in India between multiple teams representing regional and state cricket associations. Board of Control for Cricket in India founded it in 1935, since then it is annually organised across various grounds and stadiums in India.

In December 2017, they reached the final of the Ranji Trophy for the first time in their history, after they beat Karnataka by 5 runs in the semi-finals of the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy tournament. In the final, they beat Delhi by 9 wickets to win their first Ranji Trophy. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Vidarbha successfully defended the crown by defeating Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final played at Nagpur.

The Police Stadium is a cricket ground in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India. The first recorded match on the ground came when Himachal Pradesh Under-19s played Haryana Under-19s in 1995. The ground held its first first-class match in December 1995 when Himachal Pradesh played Jammu and Kashmir in the 1995/96 Ranji Trophy. The following season a further first-class match was held when Himachal Pradesh played Haryana in the 1996/97 Ranji Trophy. Three seasons later the ground held a third first-class match between Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir in the 1999/00 Ranji Trophy. Three List A matches have also been held on the ground, with the first coming in the 1995/96 Ranji Trophy one-day competition when Himachal Pradesh played Jammu and Kashmir. The others followed when Himachal Pradesh played Haryana in the 1996/97 competition and when Himachal Pradesh played Jammu and Kashmir in the 1999/00 competition. No further major matches have been staged there.
Jawaharlal Navoday Vidhyalay Stadium is a cricket ground near Una, Himachal Pradesh, India. The first recorded match held on the ground came in January 1999 when Bengal Under-16s played Madhya Pradesh Under-16s. The ground later held a List A match in 1997 when Himachal Pradesh played the Services in the 1999/00 Ranji Trophy one-day competition. Following this match, a first-class match was played there between the two sides in the Ranji Trophy. Nearly ten years later the ground held five List A matches in the 2008/09 Vijay Hazare Trophy. During the competition the Services cricket team heavily criticised the grounds playing conditions, citing the outfield as bumpy and potentially dangerous. They also criticised its general facilities, including a lack of changing facilities, with both teams having to change in a partitioned tent.

The stadium has hosted two Ranji Trophy match in 1965 when Kerala cricket team played against Andhra cricket team. The ground has one more Ranji Trophy matches again in 1965 when Kerala cricket team played against Hyderabad cricket team and against in 1992 but since then the stadium has hosted non-first-class matches.

The stadium has hosted three Ranji Trophy matches in 1972 when Odisha cricket team played against Bihar cricket team. The stadium also hosted three List A matches from 1990 to 1993 as well as a Youth One Day International in 1990 when India Under-19 cricket team played Pakistan Under-19 cricket team. Up to January 2016 it was again ready to host national and list A matches and it is well maintained stadium.

It is currently used mainly for cricket matches. The stadium was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 5,000 seats.

The stadium has hosted a first-class matches in 1964 when Andhra cricket team played against Hyderabad cricket team. The ground has held seven further first-class matches, the last of which came in the 1997/98 Ranji Trophy when Andhra cricket team and the Goa cricket team.

Till date the ground has hosted two more first-class matches in 2015 season. The ground hosted few under-19s state matches.
