Umapathy Ramaiah is an Indian actor who works in Tamil-language films. He is the son of actor and comedian Thambi Ramaiah.

Career

Umapathy made his debut in the comedy film Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay (2017). [1] [2] In a review of the film by The Times of India, a critic noted that "For a debutant, Umapathy comes as agile and good at dancing". [3] His next film was his father's directorial venture Maniyaar Kudumbam (2018). [4] [5] Umapathy played a groom in Cheran's Thirumanam (2019). [6] His next film was Devadas, an unreleased comedy film, and Thanne Vandi , a romantic comedy. [7] [8] [9] Umapathy participated in Survivor Tamil series. [10] His upcoming directorial debut is a project titled Rajakili written by his father Thambi Ramaiah, who stars in the film with Samuthirakani. [11]

Umapathy Ramaiah tied the knot with actor Arjun's daughter Aishwarya Arjun on 10 June 2024 in an intimate ceremony at Arjun's Sri Yoga Anjaneyar Temple in Gerugambakkam, Chennai. [12]

The film stars Thambi Ramaiah and Samuthirakani in the lead roles and produced by Suresh Kamatchi of V House Productions. Other cast members include Suveta Shrimpton, Miyashree Sowmya, M. S. Bhaskar, Daniel Balaji, Pala. Karuppiah, Ilavarasu, Aadukalam Naren, Krish, Praveen G and others in supporting roles. The technical work consists of cinematography by Kedarnath and S. Gopinath, background music by Sai Dinesh, audio by Tapas Nayak, and editing by R Sudharshan.
