Umar Buba Bindir (born 11 August 1961) is a Nigerian agricultural engineer and currently,Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Adamawa State of Nigeria [1] [2]
He was born on August 11,1961,in Yola,the capital of Adamawa State,northeastern Nigeria. He obtained a Bachelor of science (B.sc) degree with first class honours in Agricultural Technology from the University of Maiduguri [3] and took the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps in Benue State,the north central region of Nigeria. [4] He later obtained a Master of science (M.sc) degree in agricultural machinery engineering and a doctorate degree,Ph.D. in agricultural machinery design from Cranfield University. [5] Having completed his doctorate degree,he joined the academic staff of Papua New Guinea University of Technology where he later became head of Agricultural Engineering Department,a position he held from 1992 to 1998. [6] [7] He specialized in Machine Design and Development Engineering. He had served in several institute and government parastatals,including the Appropriate Technology and Community Development Institute in Northern Australia,Family Economic Advancement Programme,FEAP and Director of Sports,Federal Ministry of Sports and Social Development,Nigeria. [8] [9] Specifically,he served as Director of Operations –Family Economic Advancement Programme (FEAP),The Presidency Nigeria from 1998 to 2000;Director of Monitoring and Management Information Services at the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) The Presidency Nigeria from 2000 to 2005;Director of Sports –Federal Ministry Sports and Youth Development Nigeria from 2005 to 2006;Director Technology Acquisition and Assessment –Federal Ministry of Science and Technology Nigeria from 2006 to 2009;Director General/CEO National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) Nigeria from 2009 to 2015 and currently the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Adamawa State of Nigeria from 2015 to date. He is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN),a European Engineering Council Chartered Engineer,holds wide range of professional Fellowships and currently serves as a Council member of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. He is also passionately involved in driving the establishment of Nigeria's Science and Technology Parks programme and pioneered the establishment of Africa's Premier Science and Technology Innovation Corridor (APSTICA) in Abuja. He also pioneered the Technology Story Board project (TSB) and NOTAP-Industry Technology Transfer Fellowship (NITTF) as guided capacity building strategies to evolve highly skilled Science Technology and Innovation (STI) manpower for Nigeria at the primary and tertiary levels.
He Designed and produced a once-over groundnut combine harvester suitable for Nigerian farmers and animal gears system for processing agricultural commodities in rural area,designed,developed and commercialized a coconut de-husking machine for small coconut producers in Australia/Pacific and Asia,designed and developed solar water desalinating plant for rural areas of the pacific,designed and developed vegetable storage system for rural areas,designed a 16-bird slaughtering kit for small scale poultry processors. The state was formed in 1976 when the former North-Eastern State was broken up. It originally included the area that is now Yobe State,which became a distinct state in 1991.
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is a Federal higher institution located in Maiduguri,the capital city of Borno State in Northeast Nigeria. The university was created by the federal government of Nigeria in 1975,with the intention of its becoming one of the country's principal higher-education institutions. It enrolls about 25,000 students in its combined programs,which include a college of medicine and faculties of agriculture,arts,environmental science,Allied health science,Basic medical science,dentistry,education,engineering,law,management science,pharmacy,science,social science,and veterinary medicine. With the encouragement of the federal government,the university has recently been increasing its research efforts,particularly in the fields of agriculture,medicine and conflict resolution,and expanding the university press. The university is the major higher institution of learning in the north-eastern part of the country.

Mohammed Buba Marwa,is a retired Nigerian army brigadier general,who is serving as the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) since January 2021. He previously served as governor of Lagos State from 1996 to 1999 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha and Abdulsalami Abubakar and governor of Borno State from 1990 to 1992 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.
Shettima Mustafa was a Nigerian academic and politician. After an early career in medicine,local administration,and media,Mustafa studied agriculture at university,eventually earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He became a commissioner in Borno State and joined the Nigerian People's Party,becoming their vice-presidential candidate in 1983. He was jailed after the military coup of December 1983 led by Muhammadu Buhari. After his release in 1985 he taught agriculture at the University of Maiduguri and became head of the Jos region of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. Mustafa served as Minister of Agriculture from 1990 to 1992,and in 2007 was appointed Minister of Defence in the cabinet of President Umaru Yar'Adua. In 2008 he became Minister of the Interior but left office with the 2010 dissolution of the cabinet.
Adamawa State Polytechnic is a tertiary educational institution in Yola,Adamawa State,Nigeria. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute,Numan. The new polytechnic provides national diploma programs in computer science,statistics,accountancy,business studies and secretarial studies. The polytechnic,run by the State government,is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education. The institution has become affiliated with the University of Maiduguri for the purpose of running degree programmes.
Modibbo Adama University,Yola is a public research university in Girei,a town in Adamawa State,Northeastern Nigeria. It is one of the four federal technology universities established with the sole purpose of advancing science-based research. The university has been accredited by the National Universities Commission. The university offers associate's,bachelor's,master's,and PhD degrees. The Vice Chancellor is Abdullahi Liman Tukur.
The Kiri Dam is in Shelleng local government area of Adamawa State in the north east of Nigeria,damming the Gongola River. It is a 1.2 km long,20 m high zoned embankment with an internal clay blanket. The dam was mainly completed in 1982. The reservoir has a capacity of 615 million m³.

He is married to Hajiya Fatima and they have four children.
Tahir Mamman OON,SAN is a Professor of law,Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). Educational administrator and the Director-general of the Nigeria Law School from 2005 to 2013. He is the current Vice chancellor of Baze University Abuja and member governing board of Niger delta development commission NDDC. He is a recognized member of the Body of Benchers. In 2010 he became a board member of the International Association of Law Schools based in Washington DC. In September 2015,he was conferred as a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). In recognition of his efforts,the Federal Government of Nigeria bestowed him with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger(OON).
