un love is the third album from Canadian indie folk band, Reuben and the Dark. The album was released barely 18 months after its predecessor, Arms of a Dream . Besides being described as indie rock and folk-rock, some reviewers began describing the band as alternative rock. [2]
The album was demoed in Mexico with Reuben Bullock, bassist Ian Jarvis, guitarist Brock Geiger and Christopher Hayden as the producer. Bullock had gone to Mexico after touring the 2018 album Arms of a Dream and after separating from his wife. He said about the album; "Me and my wife separated and I’ve been in that process of trying to understand our relationship and change our understanding of love. That has had a really deep effect on me and that’s at the heart of all these songs, me trying to understand love to be really blunt about it." [3]
The song Faultline was originally demoed for the album Arms of a Dream , but never made it onto that album. [4]
Killbeatmusic described the album as "..[the] collection is a bare, cathartic exploration of life’s undeniable crossroads, and the fateful depths that await there." [5] Exclaim! were not as effusive with this album compared with its predecessor. They said of the album; "The scope of the band's music has shrunk. Unexpected flourishes that gave their flowery compositions a few thorns have been pruned back in favour of safer music." [1]

Spoon is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1993. The band is the brainchild of Britt Daniel and Jim Eno (drums) and has seen many lineup changes throughout their history. Alex Fischel and Gerardo Larios are also currently members of the band. Critics have described the band's musical style as indie rock, indie pop, art rock, and experimental rock.

Hollerado was a Canadian indie rock band from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2007, the band consisted of Menno Versteeg, Nixon Boyd, Dean Baxter and Jake Boyd. "Archie, Marry Me" is a song by Canadian indie pop band Alvvays. It was released on April 6, 2013 as the lead single from the band's eponymous debut album (2014). "Archie, Marry Me" examines modern romance and traditional marriage, and touches on themes of commitment and financial stability. It was written by vocalist and guitarist Molly Rankin with guitarist Alec O'Hanley as a critique of the standard societal expectation that one is to marry upon entering adulthood.
