Under the Radar Volume 3 is a 2019 compilation album by English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. It is the third entry in his Under the Radar series of rarities, B-sides and previously unreleased tracks, issued exclusively through his official website on 14 February 2019. [1] [2]
Following the online success of Under the Radar Volume 1 (2014) and Under the Radar Volume 2 (2017), Williams again collected tracks that “had a special place in my heart but didn’t make the main albums.” [2] Pre-orders opened in late 2018 via his website, continuing his independent distribution model for loyal fans rather than a mainstream retail release.
Among the material, the song "Reality Killed the Video Star" stands out for its history and authorship. It was originally written and recorded for Williams’s 2009 studio album of the same name but was ultimately left off that release. The track is a rare example of Williams writing and performing all instruments himself, a creative approach he had previously used on "Nan’s Song" from the 2002 album Escapology . [1]
Under the Radar Volume 3 was released on Valentine’s Day 2019 in CD and digital download formats exclusively through RobbieWilliams.com. [2] The album features collaborations with long-time partners Guy Chambers, Richard Flack, Stuart Price, and others.
