Unit 2250 refers to a Quds Force unit for logistics and coordination. The unit plays a major role in Iran's logistical infrastructure for supplying allied forces and proxy groups in the Levant, particularly in Syria and Lebanon.
Unit 2250 is a logistic division responsible for coordinating movement, storage and transport of weapons, supplies personnel and equipment from Iran to its affiliated forces and proxy organizations. Among its operations were those linked to the delivery of materials to the Bashar al‑Assad regime in Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The unit has also been referred to in some cases as the “Lebanon Aid Bureau” due to its role in facilitating Iranian logistical support to Lebanese Hezbollah via Syria. [1] [2] [3]
According to research and reports, the unit's operations include:
the unit is responsible of coordinating all weapons, equipment, funds, and personnel shipments from Iran to its allied proxies. This is mainly done using overland corridors, an occasionally using air and sea routes via Syrian territory. [1] [2]
Unit 2250 works closely with other Quads Force units like Division 8000, responsible for weapons production and integrations, Unit 190, [4] [5] and also with Hezbollah's logistic branch, Unit 4400. [6] [1] [2] [7]
Based on reports, it is said that it holds several headquarters in strategic locations like: Tehran, Beirut, and in several Syrian cities. [2] [8]
Unit 2250 is linked to an operations center in Damascus and supported by satellite logistics offices across Syria, facilitating supply management into Lebanon and other theaters. Its activities form part of Iran's regional logistics network, which expanded during the Syrian Civil War to sustain allied forces by a land corridors and numerous transport routes. The network has repeatedly been targeted by opposing forces, highlighting its strategic role in maintaining Iran aligned combat capabilities in the Levant. [2] [8]
Razi Mousavi, a senior Quds Force commander led the unit for many years, while playing a major role in supervising Iran's logistical network in Syria and Lebanon. According to reports he was involved in close cooperation with senior IRGC leadership and allied militia infrastructure. In December 2023, Razi Mousavi was killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike at his residence near Damascus. The strike brought increased attention to the strategic importance of Unit 2250's logistics operations. [9] [8]
