The former US Post Office, also known as the US Post Office/Federal Building, is an historic red brick post office building located at 430 South Spring Street in downtown Burlington, North Carolina. Built in 1936, it was designed in a mixture of the Classical Revival and Moderne or Art Deco styles by architect R. Stanley Brown who worked under Louis A. Simon, head of the Office of the Supervising Architect. [1] [2]
In the building's lobby are two wall murals by WPA artist Arthur L. Bairnsfather, which commemorate Burlington's history as a textile manufacturing center. [3]
Since November 3, 1987, the building has been owned by Roche Biomedical Laboratories, Inc., a subsidiary of Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc. [4]
On September 23, 1988, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. [1] It is located in the Downtown Burlington Historic District.

Mebane is a city located mostly in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States, and partly in Orange County, North Carolina. The town was named for Alexander Mebane, an American Revolutionary War general and member of the U.S. Congress. It was incorporated as "Mebanesville" in 1881, and in 1883 the name was changed to "Mebane". It was incorporated as a city in 1987. The population as of the 2010 census was 11,393. Mebane is one of the fastest growing municipalities in North Carolina. Mebane straddles the Research Triangle and Piedmont Triad Regions of North Carolina. The bulk of the city is in Alamance County, which comprises the Burlington Metropolitan Statistical Area, itself a component of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem-High Point Combined Statistical Area. William Lee Stoddart (1868–1940) was an architect best known for designing urban hotels in the eastern United States. Although he was born in Tenafly, New Jersey, most of his commissions were in the South. He maintained offices in Atlanta and New York City.
The United States Courthouse, also known as the Federal Building, is a historic building located in Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has historically housed a post office, courthouse, and other offices of the United States government. The building now serves only as a federal courthouse, housing operations of the eastern division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. In 2018, the operations of the Rock Island division of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois were also moved there.
The James T. Foley United States Courthouse is a stone Art Deco federal courthouse, located on Broadway in downtown Albany, New York, United States. Built in the 1930s, it was included in 1980 as a contributing property when the Downtown Albany Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2020 it was listed on the Register individually as the United States Post Office, Court House, and Custom House.

The United States Post Office is an historic building located in downtown Iowa Falls, Iowa, United States. Built in 1914, the structure was designed in the Neoclassical style, with Oscar Wenderoth as the supervising architect. The 1893 Colombian Exposition in Chicago was a major influence in the building's design. The foundation is composed of North Carolina granite, while the walls are dark red brick that is laid in an English cross bond. The main entrance is framed by a portico that is held up by four columns of the Doric order. The interior features woodwork of white oak, a marble-terrazo floor, and a vaulted ceiling. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

It is a seven-story, brick sheathed building in the Classical Revival style. It features terra cotta ornamentation, a brick parapet, and stuccoed panels at the uppermost floor.
Atlantic Bank and Trust Company Building, also known as the North Carolina National Bank Building, is a historic bank building located in Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Charles C. Hartmann and built in 1928–1929. It is a nine-story, steel-framed midrise in the Art Deco style. It features rich granite ornamentation at the bottom and top pairs of stories.

It is a two-story rectangular building of cream brick with limestone trim in a Classical / Colonial Revival style. Five central bays of the front facade make up a slightly projecting frontispiece defined by an arcade of six colossal stone pilasters with Greek corinthian order capitals.

The front facade features a three-bay loggia formed by arches with voluted keystones, springing from Tuscan order columns. This building served as the main post office for Greenville until 1969. It currently serves as a U.S. Courthouse.

Western Electric Company-Tarheel Army Missile Plant is an abandoned industrial complex located approximately two miles east of downtown Burlington's commercial district in Alamance County, North Carolina. Built in 1927, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
