University of Chitral is a public sector university located in the Chitral District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The university was founded in 2017. It is being run by the provincial government. [1]
The University of Chitral was established in the District Chitral by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2017. The university was founded in response to a notification issued by the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bearing the reference number SO(UE-II)3-1/2017 and dated March 31, 2017. [2]
Before the inception of the University of Chitral, there were two university campuses operating in the district Chitral which were the sub-campuses of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sheringal and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. [3] Due to a steady increase in student enrollment across these campuses over time, the demand for academic amenities witnessed a substantial surge. The existing academic, research, and residential infrastructure were not enough to cater for the actual requirements of all the students. This circumstance prompted the imperative for the establishment of a full-fledged university in Chitral. The residents of Chitral had long been advocating for the establishment of a fully-fledged university within the region. Responding to this demand, the University of Chitral was founded in 2011. [4]
University of Chitral will act as a "regional educational corridor" for Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia via Wakhan Strip, Gilgit Baltistan and Gilgit-Chitral, Dir, Malakand alternate CPEC Route. [5]

The Awami National Party is a Pashtun nationalist, secular and leftist political party in Pakistan. The party was founded by Abdul Wali Khan in 1986 and its current president is Asfandyar Wali Khan, grandson of Bacha Khan, with Mian Iftikhar Hussain serving as the Secretary-General. He was assassinated in 1975, and his death was blamed on a rival political party in the province - the Awami National Party of Khan Abdul Wali Khan.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU) (Urdu: جامعہ شہید بینظیر بھٹو) is a public university located in the Sheringal region within the Upper Dir District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It was established in 2009 with a presidential order. The university was established by upgrading the sub-campus of the University of Malakand having Forestry department and Phytochemistry laboratories. Ms Shazia Khushdil, Mr. Khansher, Ms, Shazia Ahmad and Mr Naveed Anjum were the pioneers of sub-campus and the only forestry department was there along with the University Public School and College and a project on medicinal plant. Ms Shazia Khushdil and Ms Shazia Ahmad are the first women in the history of Dir Upper who started university education in Dir Upper.. This is because of them that later in 2009, it became Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, Dir upper. Mr. Badshah Hussain was the first registrar and Dr Jahandar Shah was its first Vice Chancellor. The university provides degrees in various subjects including Computer Science, Pharmacy, Geology, Forestry, Chemistry and Biotechnology.
The forestry sector of Pakistan is a main source of lumber, paper, fuelwood, latex, medicine as well as food and provide ecotourism and wildlife conservation purposes. 4.91% of Pakistan's land is covered in forest. The Shangla district is the only district of Pakistan that composed of more than 80% of forest land.
Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College is a medical school in Lyari, Karachi, Pakistan, that opened in March 2011. The Principal of the college is Dr. Anjum Rehman. The college was opened with financial support from the Government of Pakistan. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College part of Lyari General Postgraduate Medical Centre also known as Lyari General Hospital. It also has Institute of Cardiology and is a teaching hospital. It was formerly affiliated with Dow University of Health Sciences.
Khan Amirzadah Khan was a member of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement and a leader of the National Awami Party in Pakistan. Born in Bakhshali village, Mardan District in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he was an active participant of Khudai Khidmatgar movement organized by Bacha Khan. Amirzada Khan started active politics with National Awami Party and remained President of National Awami Party District Mardan until 1972, when he remained senior Provincial Minister of Law, Education and Parliamentary Affairs.

The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) (Urdu: جامعہ عبد الولی خان مردان) is a public university located in the Mardan District of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Established in April 2009, the university is named after Abdul Wali Khan, a prominent personality of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This institution has forty nine institutions affiliated with it. The university started in an already-built postgraduate college of Mardan. It has nine campuses and more than ten thousand students enrolled in thirty one disciplines as of 2015. The campus at Swabi was opened in October 2010 in the Anbar Elementary College building and has since then become the University of Swabi. The Palosa campus is home to Bacha Khan University. Currently the university has three constituent colleges and six faculties. Those include the faculties of Arts & Humanities, Agriculture, Chemical and Life Sciences, Physical & Numerical Sciences, Economics & Business and Social Sciences. The Pashtunkhwa College of Art, Womans' College and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College are also constituent colleges of the university.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, previously known as the Frontier Women University, is located in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was formed as result of an order from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in 2004 and the university has been functioning since 2005.
