Two of the song's co-writers—Jessica and Lisa Origliasso of the Veronicas—recorded a demo of "Faded" prior to DeAraugo's release. They have been known to perform the song live.

In Orbit is the second studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Petra Marklund, performing as September. It was released on 26 October 2005 by Catchy Tunes, making it September's first album with the label. The album was supported by three singles; "Satellites", "Looking for Love" and "Cry for You", all which reached at top twenty in Sweden, and two promotional singles; "Flowers on the Grave" and "It Doesn't Matter". The album debuted and peaked at 17 on the Swedish Album Chart, and peaked at 36 on the Finnish Album Chart. In Poland, the album was re-released as a limited edition in 2007, including remixes and a DVD with music videos. This edition peaked at No. 10 and was certified Gold for sales of over 10,000 units. September won a Swedish Grammis Award for In Orbit in the category Club/Dance of the Year in February 2006.

The album was September's highest-peaking album in Sweden at the time, peaking at #12 on the Swedish Album Chart. In Poland, the album peaked at #19. Dancing Shoes spawned two singles; "Can't Get Over" and "Until I Die", which both reached the top ten in Sweden. The album track "Because I Love You" was released as a promotional single for her compilation album Gold, and the single edit of "Cry for You was included as a bonus track on this album; it was previously released as single from her previous album In Orbit.Dancing Shoes was nominated for a Swedish Grammis Award in the category Dance/Hip Hop/Soul of the Year.

The single was a success in Sweden and Finland and was later released in variety of countries worldwide, such as Poland, Romania, Spain, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States, being September's first international release. "Satellites" is considered September's second biggest hit to date, becoming a hit in almost all countries it was released in.
Dancing in Orbit is a compilation of Swedish singer September's second and third albums, In Orbit and Dancing Shoes, respectively, released on 8 May 2008 in the Netherlands. Following the success of September's first major international hit single, "Cry for You", it was released as September's debut album in the Netherlands and Belgium.
"On and On" is a song by the Swedish singer Agnes and the first single from Dance Love Pop. The song was released to radio stations and as a digital download in Sweden on August 11, 2008. The song is written by Anders Hansson and is released by Roxy Recordings. Just like "Release Me" a French version of the song was recorded for the francophone market called "On se Donne". "On and On" was released in the UK in May, 2010. The song was re-released in the Netherlands on May 24, 2010 as the UK edit.

Basshunter, a Swedish singer, record producer and DJ, has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, 30 singles, five promotional singles and seven remixes. The Bassmachine, Basshunter's debut studio album, was released by Alex Music on 25 August 2004. In April 2006, he signed his first contract with Extensive Music and Warner Music Sweden. His single "Boten Anna" charted at number one on the Danish singles chart, where it stayed for fourteen weeks; it was certified triple platinum by IFPI Danmark. "Boten Anna" also reached number one in the Swedish singles chart and was certified platinum by IFPI Sverige. His second studio album LOL, released on 28 August 2006, charted in the top five in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The album was certified platinum by IFPI Finland and double platinum by IFPI Danmark. In late 2006, Basshunter released his albums The Bassmachine and The Old Shit through his own website. Basshunter's third single "Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA" was certified gold by IFPI Danmark. Basshunter collaborated with the duo Patrik & Lillen on his single "Vifta med händerna".
Cry for You – The Album is the first compilation album by Swedish singer-songwriter Petra Marklund released in the United Kingdom. The album was released on 2 August 2009, as a digital download by Hard2Beat Records. The album includes new material, along with new versions of other songs from previous albums, including a new edit of "Satellites", due to it not being originally released in the UK by Hard2Beat and on a different label. Cry for You features her singles that were released in the UK; "Satellites", "Cry for You", "Can't Get Over" and "Until I Die". Despite "Cry for You" peaking at five on the UK Singles Chart, the album failed to chart on the UK Albums Chart.

It was released as the album's second single in the UK in a remixed form. The song was re-sung and completely reproduced during summer 2009 for the single release. "Breathing Your Love" is a song by the Swedish singer Darin featuring vocals by American singer Kat DeLuna and the first single from Darin's fourth studio album, Flashback. The song is co-written by Darin with RedOne, Bilal Hajji and Novel was released to radio stations and as a digital download in Sweden on 8 October 2008. The single was released in Finland and is also the first single from Darin to be released in the United Kingdom, which it was in January 2010. In October 2009 Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang took 2 copies of the single into space with him, as his daughter is a Darin fan. A photo of the disc can be seen with earth in the distance on the official Darin website.
"Wet" is the official lead single from hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg's eleventh studio album Doggumentary. The original version was produced by the Cataracs. "Wet" reached number 40 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, number 18 on the Hot Rap Songs and number 13 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. A remix of the song entitled "Sweat" was released by French DJ David Guetta on March 4, 2011.

"Cheerleader" is a song recorded by Jamaican singer Omi. The track was written and produced by OMI and Clifton Dillon, Mark Bradford, and Ryan Dillon. OMI first began developing the song in 2008, when he created its melody. It was refined over several years alongside famed Jamaican producer Clifton Dillon. It was first recorded with veteran session musicians Sly and Robbie and Dean Fraser. Released as a single on independent label Oufah, the song saw success in Jamaica, where it topped the charts, and also attracted airplay in Hawaii and Dubai. Ultra contacted two disc jockeys to produce remixed versions of the original song. The label and song's producers preferred one remix, produced by a young German DJ, Felix Jaehn, that eschewed much of the song's original instrumentation for a tropical-flavored deep house rendition, prominently featuring a trumpet, a conga beat, and piano. A remix extended play was released in May 2015 by Ultra, which began to first see commercial success that fall.
