Tampere is a city in Finland and the regional capital of Pirkanmaa. It is located in the Finnish Lakeland. The population of Tampere is approximately 260,000, while the metropolitan area has a population of approximately 423,000. It is the 3rd most populous municipality in Finland, and the second most populous urban area in the country after the Helsinki metropolitan area.
Lempäälä is a municipality in Finland, located in the Pirkanmaa region. It lies south of the regional capital, Tampere. The population of Lempäälä is approximately 25,000, while the metropolitan area has a population of approximately 423,000. It is the 41st most populous municipality in Finland.

Pirkanmaa, also known as Tampere Region in government documents, is a region of Finland. It borders the regions of Satakunta, South Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Päijät-Häme, Kanta-Häme and Southwest Finland. Most of the water area in the Kokemäki River watershed is located in the Pirkanmaa region, although Lake Vanajavesi is partly in the Kanta-Häme region. The region got its name from Pirkkala, which in the Middle Ages comprised most of present-day Pirkanmaa. Tampere is the regional center and capital of Pirkanmaa, and at the same time the largest city in the region.

It covers an area of 274.95 square kilometres (106.16 sq mi) of which 16.47 km2 (6.36 sq mi) is water. The population density is 6.45 inhabitants per square kilometre (16.7/sq mi). Korkeakoski is the administrative center of the municipality.

Pirkanmaa is one of the 13 electoral districts of the Parliament of Finland, the national legislature of Finland. The district was established as Häme Province North in 1907 when the Diet of Finland was replaced by the Parliament of Finland. It was renamed Pirkanmaa in 1997. It is conterminous with the region of Pirkanmaa. The district currently elects 20 of the 200 members of the Parliament of Finland using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2023 parliamentary election it had 437,155 registered electors.
Akaa is a town and a municipality in Pirkanmaa, Finland. It was created on 1 January 2007, when the town of Toijala and the town of Viiala were united into a single municipality. The municipality of Kylmäkoski was consolidated with Akaa on 1 January 2011.
Sastamala is a town in Finland, located in the Pirkanmaa region. Sastamala lies on both sides of River Kokemäenjoki in the southwest corner of Pirkanmaa. The population of Sastamala is approximately 24,000, while the sub-region has a population of approximately 26,000. It is the 44th most populous municipality in Finland.

Kiikka is a locality and former municipality in Pirkanmaa region, Finland. It was consolidated in 1981 with Keikyä into a municipality of Äetsä, which in turn, was consolidated with Vammala and Mouhijärvi into a town of Sastamala in 2009. Kiikka is located by the river Kokemäenjoki, about 10 kilometres south of the Sastamala town center.
Kohti Vapautta! is a Finnish neo-Nazi organization. It was founded in 2019, and was named after traditional Independence Day rallies. According to the Finnish government, the group is the Finnish branch of the Nordic Resistance Movement, which has been banned by the Pirkanmaa District Court.
Transport in Tampere consists of car, bus, light rail and commuter rail services linking the city centre of Tampere, Finland, to surrounding residential areas and towns in the Pirkanmaa region. The system is managed by the Tampere Regional Transport Authority, branded as Nysse. The name originates from a local colloquialism nysse tulee, with nysse jokingly used to refer to any public transport vehicle.
