The Channel Islands are an archipelago in the English Channel, off the French coast of Normandy. They include two Crown Dependencies: the Bailiwick of Jersey, which is the largest of the islands; and the Bailiwick of Guernsey, consisting of Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm and some smaller islands. They are considered the remnants of the Duchy of Normandy and, although they are not part of the United Kingdom, the UK is responsible for the defence and international relations of the islands. The Crown dependencies are not members of the Commonwealth of Nations, nor have they ever been in the European Union. They have a total population of about 170,499, and the bailiwicks' capitals, Saint Helier and Saint Peter Port, have populations of 33,500 and 18,207, respectively.
The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association. Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup.

The Muratti Vase is an annual men's football competition, inaugurated in 1905, between teams representing the Channel Islands of Alderney, Guernsey and Jersey. The larger islands of Guernsey and Jersey dominate the competition, with Alderney's sole match final championship victory occurring in 1920.
First Tower United F.C. is a football club based on the Channel Island of Jersey. They are affiliated to the Jersey Football Association and play in the Jersey Football Combination Premiership. The club plays in white and blue. They were the second most successful club in the island after Jersey Wanderers, having won the Jersey League 19 times.
The Inter-insular match is a cricket match played annually between the representative teams of Channel Islands Jersey and Guernsey. It has been played since 1950 and often attracts crowds above 1,000. It is often referred as ‘reds vs greens’ contest. The format has varied over the years but has been played as a 50-over contest in recent times and a Women’s Inter-Insular match was first played in 2009. In 2018, the format switched to a series of Twenty20 matches, although 2019 saw a return of the traditional 50-over match in addition to the Twenty20 series. On 31 May 2019, there was also a one-off Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) fixture between the two women's teams. It was the first WT20I match for both teams.
St. Ouen F.C. is an amateur association football club in Saint Ouen, Jersey, Channel Islands who play in the Jersey Premiership. The club plays in yellow and blue. They play at St. Ouen.

The Channel Island Snooker Championship is a two-player snooker match held almost every April between the current island snooker champion of Jersey and the current island snooker champion of Guernsey. The trophy was originally sponsored by the main newspapers of the respective islands, the Guernsey Evening Press and the Jersey Evening Post. The match takes place in each island in alternate years and consists of the best of 7 frames. Gary Britton is the defending champion, representing Jersey is the current champion, having defeated Adam Shorto in the 2019 final.
Jersey Reds is a rugby club based in Jersey that currently competes at the RFU Championship, the second tier of English professional rugby. The club also has an amateur men's side, Jersey Reds Athletic, who play in the Raging Bull Shield Division 1; Jersey Reds Women, who play in the Women's National Championship South 2 league; and a thriving Mini section with over 500 boys and girls participating.
Guernsey Football Club is a community football club located in St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. The club was formed in 2011 and became a member of the Combined Counties Football League Division One for the 2011–12 season.
St. Peter is a Rugby ground in Saint Peter, Jersey and is home to Jersey Reds, who have played in the RFU Championship, the second level of the Rugby Football Union's league pyramid, since 2012–13. The Priaulx League is the senior football league on the island of Guernsey, and is run by the Guernsey Football League Management LBG,. Although the league is affiliated with the English FA, it does not form a part of the English football league system. The winners of the Priaulx League go on to play the champions of the Jersey Combination for the Upton Park Trophy.
The Track is a multi-use stadium in Saint Sampson, Guernsey. It is the home ground of association football team Belgrave Wanderers and is also used to host Guernsey official football team's home Muratti games. It also has Guernsey's only kart racing track around the outside.
Guernsey Rugby Football Club is an amateur rugby union team who play at Footes Lane in St Peter Port on the Channel Island of Guernsey. The club was formed in 1928. Currently the club runs two senior teams, a veterans side and a colts side. Their first XV, the Guernsey Raiders currently play in Level 4 following their promotion from London & South East Premier at the end of the 2019-20 season. The Guernsey Raiders Ladies team plays in Level 4, Women's National Challenge South East South 1.
