Ushindzi Club is a Comorian basketball club based in Ouani. The club was founded in 1976. [1] The club has participated in the Comoros Basketball Championship and has won the championship in 2015 and 2023. [2] Ushindzi has also won seven regional titles, and played in the FIBA Africa Zone 7 championship in 2016. [1] In the same year, Ushindzi made its debut in the Road to BAL, the qualifying tournaments for the BAL. [3] They lost their two games in Group E against COSPN and the Beau Vallon Heat.

Azali Assoumani is a Comorian politician and military officer who has served as President of the Comoros from 2002 to 2006 and again since 2016, except for a brief period in 2019. He became head of state after staging a coup d'état in 1999 and was elected president in 2002, 2016, 2019 and 2024. He has also served as Chairperson of the African Union since February 2023.

The qualification for the 2024 BAL season, also known as Road to BAL 2024, was the 4th edition of the qualifying tournaments for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The tournaments were organised by FIBA Africa and are held from 3 October to 26 November 2023. The format was the same as to the previous seasons, with the competition divided in the group phase and the elite 16.
The Comoros National Basketball Championship is an annual tournament for basketball teams in the Comoros to determine the national champions. It is organised by the Comorian Basketball Federation.
