He was born into the family of Usman Shiddi and Patu Adda. He began his education at the Ebenezer Primary School in the mid-70s in Wukari Local Government area of the then Gongola state, now Taraba State.
Upon his graduation,he proceeded to Government Day Secondary School Wukari but later moved to Government Science Secondary School,Bauchi where he completed his secondary education in the late 1980s. Danjuma immediately proceeded to Bauchi Polytechnic in the early 1990s and upon completion of his studies,he moved to Ado Bayero University,Kano, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in political science.
Shiddi has served as a House of Representatives Member for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency Taraba Sate from 2015 till date. In 2019,he won the House of Representative seat for the constituency with 39,312 votes defeating his closest rival,Yakubu Aliyara of Action Alliance (AA) who got 22,147 votes. [6] [7] Shiddi is the Chairman,House Committee on Internal Security of the 9th Nigeria House of Representative Assembly [8] and in 2020 defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). [9]
Shiddi first took up employment with the Department of State Services (DSS) during the mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). He served at various capacities in the intelligence spheres and places across Nigeria and rose to the rank of Assistant Director. Prior to that,he was the Chief Security Officer to Aliyu Doma,a former governor of Nasarawa State.
After leaving the DSS,Shiddi entered politics and contested for a seat in the House of Representatives to represent the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC),though he was unsuccessful in his first attempt. He later joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),under which he was elected to the House of Representatives. He was re-elected for a second term in office, also on the APGA platform.[citation needed]
In 2021,Shiddi defected from APGA to the APC,Citing divisions in APGA and of uncertainty propelled by the dissections within the party. [10]
In 2023,Shiddi lost his bid to clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Taraba South Senatorial District seat after the Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal against the nomination of David Jimkuta as the party’s candidate for the February 25,2023 senatorial election. [11]
In August 2025,Shiddi resigned from the APC,citing loss of confidence in the party’s internal democracy and deviation from its founding ideals. [12] [13]
