The Bayero University Kano (BUK) is a university situated in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1975, when it was renamed from Bayero University College and upgraded from University College to University. It is the first university in Kano State, North-western Nigeria.
Wikki Tourists Football Club is one of Nigeria's most famous football clubs based in Bauchi, and currently playing in the Nigeria National League. The main sponsor of the team is the Bauchi State Government. The club's home stadium is Abubarkar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

Kano State House of Assembly is the state legislature of Kano State, Nigeria. The Kano State House of Assembly is one of the arms of Kano State Government which comprises the Executives, Judiciary and the legislatives, House of Assembly are the legislatives of Kano State. The Chamber and the offices of the Members are located at Abdu Bako Secretariat in the state capital, Kano Municipal. The House of Assembly is currently under the Leadership of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP). There have been nine different house of assemblies; the first was inaugurated 2 October 1979 and the present one was inaugurated 7 June 2019. There are forty members of the State House of Assembly, that represent forty-four local government areas in Kano State.
Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero was Emir of Kano from 1926 until his death in 1953. Under the British colonial system of indirect rule, he oversaw the administring of the Kano Province of the Northern Region of Colonial Nigeria.

The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Bala Mohammed initially declined to run for re-election, instead running for president. However, after losing the PDP presidential primary in May 2022, Mohammed was renominated in a rerun primary. Mohammed was re-elected as governor by a 9% margin over first runner-up and APC nominee — former Chief of the Air Staff Sadique Abubakar.

Incumbent APC Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term. Deputy Governor Umar Namadi held the office for the APC by a margin of 24% over PDP nominee Mustapha Sule Lamido — a businessman and son of former Governor Sule Lamido.

Abba Kabir Yusuf — a former commissioner and son-in-law of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso — gained the office for the NNPP by a 6.5% margin over Deputy Governor Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, the APC nominee.

Umar Dikko Radda — the former SMEDAN Director-General — held the governorship for the APC by a margin of 27% over former Senator Garba Yakubu Lado, the PDP nominee.

Former Deputy Governor Ahmad Aliyu gained the office for the APC by a margin of ~6% over the PDP nominee — former Secretary to the State Government Saidu Umar.
