Utah's 21st State Senate district is located in Davis County and includes Utah House Districts 11, 13, 14, 15 and 16. The current State Senator representing the 21st district is Jerry Stevenson. Stevenson was elected by delegates to replace Sheldon Killpack after Killpack's resignation in January 2010. Stevenson is up for re-election in November 2022 after winning the 2018 Election.

Curtis Scott Bramble is an American politician and Certified Public Accountant serving as a member of the Utah State Senate, representing the state's 24th senate district. Prior to redistricting he represented the 16th senate district in Provo. On March 18, 2024, he announced that he would retire from the legislature at the end of 2024.
The 24th Utah Senate District is located in Juab, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, Tooele and Wayne Counties and includes Utah House Districts 1, 21, 67, 68, 69, 70 and 73. The current State Senator representing the 24th district is Ralph Okerlund, a Republican from Monroe who replaced Darin Peterson. Peterson opted not to pursue re-election in 2008 due to health concerns. Okerlund defeated Tobiah "Toby" Dillon (D) from Tooele City, and Benton L. Peterson (C) from Manti in the 2008 election.

Karen Mayne was an American politician who served as a member of the Utah Senate from the 5th District. She assumed office on January 2, 2008, succeeding her husband, Ed Mayne. She won re-election for the 12th senate district after redistricting. On January 4, 2023 Karen Mayne announced her plan to resign office due to unexpected changes in her health. Delegates of the Utah Democratic Party held a special election on January 15, 2023, electing Representative Karen Kwan to fill her seat.

Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Bob Bennett was seeking re-election to a fourth term, but lost renomination at the Republican Party's state convention. Mike Lee proceeded to win the Republican primary against Tim Bridgewater and the general election against Democrat Sam Granato. As of 2024, this is the most recent U.S. Senate election in which a political party held the seat after denying renomination to the incumbent senator.

The 2020 Connecticut State Senate election took place on November 3, 2020. Part of the biennial 2020 United States elections. Connecticut voters elected senators in all of the 36 State Senate districts. State senators serve two-year terms in the Connecticut State Senate, with all 36 of the seats up for election each cycle. The primary elections on August 11, 2020, determined which candidates appeared on the ballot for the general election. Four primary elections were cancelled, including three Republican primary elections. As a result, four Incumbent candidates ran uncontested.
