The Libertarian Party of Utah is the Utah affiliate of the Libertarian Party. It was founded in 1971 under Chair Karl Bray, and was the first state affiliate of the national Libertarian party to achieve ballot access for its candidates (1976).
The State Chair is currently held by Barry Short, the Vice Chair is Tessa Stitzer. Taylor Smith serves as Treasurer and Susan Baird is the party Secretary. [3]
The party, commonly abbreviated as UTLP, holds its biennial Organizing Convention in April of odd-numbered years, and Nominating Convention in April of even numbered years.

The Green Party of the United States (GPUS) is a federation of Green state political parties in the United States. The party promotes green politics, specifically environmentalism; nonviolence; social justice; participatory democracy, grassroots democracy; anti-war; anti-racism; anti-capitalism, libertarian socialism and eco-socialism. On the political spectrum, the party is generally seen as left-wing.
The Libertarian Party (LP) is a political party in the United States that promotes civil liberties, non-interventionism, laissez-faire capitalism, and limiting the size and scope of government. The party was conceived in August 1971 at meetings in the home of David F. Nolan in Westminster, Colorado, and was officially formed on December 11, 1971, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The organizers of the party drew inspiration from the works and ideas of the prominent Austrian school economist, Murray Rothbard. The founding of the party was prompted in part due to concerns about the Nixon administration, the Vietnam War, conscription, and the introduction of fiat money.
The Libertarian Party of New York (LPNY), formerly a ballot-access qualified party in the United States, is active in the state of New York. Due to changes in New York State election law in 2020, the Libertarian Party lost its ballot status. It is the recognized affiliate of the national Libertarian Party.
The Libertarian Party of Florida, or LPF, is the state of Florida's official affiliate with the Libertarian National Committee. The organization was founded in 1987 and its executive committee was incorporated in 2012.

Active since its foundation in 1972, it is the third-largest political party in the state having had multiple members elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives as well as being ballot-qualified multiple times.

The Libertarian Party of Wisconsin is the Wisconsin affiliate of the Libertarian Party. Founded in 1973, it is one of the oldest state affiliates in the Libertarian Party. In 2002, Ed Thompson, brother of Tommy Thompson and the Mayor of Tomah, Wisconsin, ran for Governor of Wisconsin, garnering over 10% of the vote. This was a record for a Libertarian gubernatorial candidate in Wisconsin running against both a Democratic and Republican candidate.
The Libertarian Party of the District of Columbia is a political party in the United States active in the District of Columbia. It is a recognized affiliate of the national Libertarian Party.
Kenneth Robert Ivory is an American attorney, politician, and lobbyist serving as a member of the Utah House of Representatives for the 47th district. Outside of politics, Ivory has lobbied on behalf of the American Lands Council and Convention of States.
Nicholas Joel Sarwark is an American attorney and businessman who served as the 19th chair of the Libertarian National Committee (LNC), the governing body of the Libertarian Party. Prior to his election in 2014, he served on several LP national committees and as chair of the Libertarian Party of Maryland State Committee and vice chair of the Libertarian Party of Colorado State Committee. As of 2020, he is the only LP chair to have served three consecutive terms.
The 2020 Utah gubernatorial election was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the governor of Utah, concurrently with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the United States Senate and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Although incumbent Republican Governor Gary Herbert was eligible to run for re-election to a third full term, he initially announced shortly after being re-elected in 2016 that he would not run again, but indicated in January 2019 that he was open to the possibility of running again before ultimately deciding to retire and endorse his lieutenant governor, Spencer Cox. Utah has not had a Democratic governor since Scott M. Matheson left office in January 1985. This is the second longest active streak of one-party leadership, trailing only South Dakota, which has not had a Democratic governor since Harvey L. Wollman left office in 1979.
After previously stating that he would not run for re-election, Jason Chaffetz announced on May 19 that he was resigning his seat in the House, effective June 30. A special election was called to replace him with a filing period opening on May 19 and closing by June 30, an expected primary date of August 15, and an election day of November 7.
The 2020 Libertarian Party presidential primaries and caucuses were a series of electoral contests to indicate non-binding preferences for the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate in the 2020 United States presidential election. These differ from the Republican or Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses in that they do not appoint delegates to represent a candidate at the party's convention to select the party's presidential nominee.
Caryn Ann Harlos is an American politician, paralegal, and parliamentarian from Colorado who is the secretary of the Libertarian National Committee—the governing body of the Libertarian Party. She was first elected to the position in 2018, and was re-elected in 2022 after being removed from the position in 2021. At the 2022 Libertarian National Convention, Harlos' 2021 removal was determined by the body to have been out of order and void. Prior to her election in 2018, she served in various positions within the Libertarian Party of Colorado, and as the Region 1 representative to the LNC.
The 2020 Utah Attorney General election was held on November 3, 2020 to elect the Attorney General of Utah. The election was held alongside various federal and state elections, including for governor. Incumbent Attorney General Sean Reyes won re-election to a third term, defeating Democratic nominee Greg Skordas and Libertarian nominee Rudy Bautista.
The 2022 United States State Treasurer elections will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the state treasurer and equivalents in twenty-seven states, plus a special election in Utah. The previous elections for this group of states took place in 2018. The treasurer of Vermont serves two-year terms and was last elected in 2020.
