Ifebuzor Uzor Ngoladi (born 19 March 1977) is a Nigerian writer, journalist, and activist. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Born in Ihiala, Anambra State, Nigeria, Ngoladi was raised in Owerri by his parents, both civil servants. He displayed an early interest in writing, authoring his first book at the age of nine. He pursued higher education, earning degrees in English, Education, and Educational Psychology from Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Imo State University, University of Port Harcourt, and the University of Lagos respectively. He also obtained a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from Pan Atlantic University. [5]
Ngoladi's career spans journalism and writing. He worked as a journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority and contributed to publications such as Hints Magazine and Sensation Magazine. He has authored numerous works, including novels, biographies (such as those on Seun Kuti and MKO Abiola), and a book on the 2020 #EndSARS protests. [6] [7] He founded the online news agency Daily BlastNG in 2020. [8]
Ngoladi is a vocal critic of the Nigerian government, particularly the administration of Muhammadu Buhari. He was an active participant in the 2020 #EndSARS protests and continues to engage in activism, including supporting the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and participating in protests led by Omoyele Sowore. Ngoladi was previously married to Merit Nwachukwu, but the marriage ended in divorce. He has since remarried. [11] [12]

End SARS, widely written as #EndSARS, was a decentralised social movement and series of mass protests against police brutality in Nigeria that mainly occurred in 2020. The movement's slogan called for the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious unit of the Nigerian Police known for its long record of abuse against Nigerian citizens. The protests originated from a Twitter campaign in 2017, using the hashtag #EndSARS to demand the unit's disbandment by the Nigerian government. The movement experienced a resurgence in October 2020 following further revelations of the unit's abuses, leading to mass demonstrations across major cities in Nigeria, and widespread outrage on social media platforms. The hashtag #EndSARS accumulated over 28 million tweets on Twitter alone. Solidarity protests and demonstrations by Nigerians in the diaspora and sympathizers occurred in many major cities around the world. Notably, the movement was predominantly led by young Nigerians and expanded to include demands for good governance and accountability, amidst unprecedented hardship in the country.
