Lt. Gen. V. K. Nayar PVSM,SM (died 30 November 2015) was a former Indian Army officer and Governor of Nagaland. [1] [2]
While in the Army,he served as a Paratrooper,an infantryman,a Counter-insurgency specialist and Army commander (GOC-in-C,Western Command).
He was married to Sajni Nayar,had one son (also an Army Officer) and one daughter. He died on 30 November 2015. [3]
Lieutenant General Srinivas Kumar Sinha,PVSM,ADC was an Indian Army General who served as the Vice Chief of Army Staff. After his retirement,he served as Governor of the states of Jammu and Kashmir,and Assam.
The Dogra Regiment is an infantry regiment of the Indian Army. The regiment traces its roots directly from the 17th Dogra Regiment of the British Indian Army. Lieutenant General Ranjit Singh Dyal,PVSM,MVC was an Indian Army general and an administrator. As a soldier,Ranjit Singh led the capture of the Haji Pir pass by the Indian army during the 1965 war with Pakistan. He also drew up the plans for Operation Blue Star,and served as the General-Officer-Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command. Later,he served as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Lt. Gen. Hanut Singh Rathore,PVSM,MVC was a General Officer in the Indian Army. He was decorated with the Maha Vir Chakra for his role in the Battle of Basantar in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
Sainik School Rewa is one of the 33 Sainik Schools of India. It is a purely residential school. The medium of instruction is English. Established by Government of India on 20 July 1962 at the sprawling estate known as Yuvraj Bhawan which belonged to Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo,Yuvraj of former Princely state of Rewa,the school prepares boys to join the indian armed forces.
