VGN Projects Estates Pvt. Ltd. [3] [4] [5] is a multi million dollar Indian real estate company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. VGN [6] primarily focuses on residential projects. It also engages in the development of commercial and institutional properties. VGN also has its own engineering, procurement and construction division which specialises in the construction of buildings, roads, bridges and pipelines . [7] [8] [9] [10]

History

Founded in the year 1942, [11] VGN has developed in excess of 20 million [12] square feet of real estate with over 50 projects in the city of Chennai. An ISO 9001:2008 certified company. V. Gurusamy Naidu was the founder of VGN group. In the year 1942 he started brick kiln factory and manufactured bricks in the name of VGN. He acquired land parcels basically to manufacture bricks in various locations. He worked hard to build good will and earned a name for VGN brand. [13]

Sponsorships

VGN was the principal sponsor of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League Cricket 2012 – 2013. [14] VGN has also sponsored various social events including Rotary International, Round Table Conference, Vintage Car Rally [15] and other sports, cultural and charitable events.

Awards and honours

VGN has also partnered with 7 MILES PER SECOND, a branding agency, to enhance its market presence. The collaboration involved strategic initiatives aimed at improving visibility and brand image through innovative campaigns and digital strategies. [16]

Anna Salai, formerly known as St. Thomas Mount Road or simply Mount Road, is an arterial road in Chennai, India. It starts at the Cooum Creek, south of Fort St George, leading in a south-westerly direction towards St. Thomas Mount, and ends at the Kathipara Junction in Guindy. Beyond the Kathipara Junction, a branch road arises traversing westwards to Poonamallee to form the Mount-Poonamallee Road while the main branch continuing southwards to Chennai Airport, Tambaram and beyond to form Grand Southern Trunk Road. Anna Salai, which is more than 400 years old, is acknowledged as the most important road in Chennai city. The head offices of many commercial enterprises and public buildings are located along Anna Salai. It is the second longest road in Chennai, after EVR Periyar Salai.

Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is a statutory authority, under the Indian Ministry of Railways, set-up by an Amendment to the Railways Act, 1989. It is responsible for creating assets for Indian Railways through the development of vacant railway land for commercial use to generate revenue by non-tariff measures. RLDA's mission is to be a leader in creating value through the redevelopment of land and air spaces – residential, commercial, and transportation hubs. RLDA's expenses are covered through grants provided by Indian Railways. RLDA transfers the total earnings generated from the development of railway land to Indian Railways. The Indian Planning Commission has computed an approximate budget of around Rs 20 to 272 billion for the development of infrastructure nationally during the 11th plan period. Out of this budget, the Railways has an anticipated requirement of Rs 2800 billion. 83% of this requirement is supposed to be met through public sector investment. In order to generate the remaining investment required to meet the budget mentioned above, the Indian Railways set up the Rail Land Development Authority on 1 November 2006. Ved Prakash Dudeja, a 1986 batch IRSE officer, is Vice Chairman of RLDA. He joined RLDA on 7 April 2019.
