Development
In August 2024, writer Vipin Das officially announced a sequel to Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys , following the commercial success and positive reception of the first film. The sequel was titled Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros. [4] According to Das, the second film expands the universe of the original while retaining its core characters and tone. [5] The announcement was accompanied by a first-look poster featuring Hashir and the returning ensemble cast. [6] [7]
Casting
Hashir reprises his role from the first film. In April 2025, filmmaker Alphonse Puthren was announced as part of the cast, marking his acting debut in a supporting role. The makers stated that the sequel features both returning characters and new additions, with the cast largely consisting of young actors. [8] [9]
Filming
The film was officially launched in April 2025. Principal photography began shortly thereafter in Ernakulam. [10] [11] The makers released a glimpse from the film in August 2025, confirming that the characters would be portrayed as school students, similar to the original film’s setting. [12] The film also had brief schedules in UAE and Georgia. [13]
Filming concluded in November 2025 after a 115 days of shooting. The makers announced the wrap through social media, celebrating the completion of production. [14] [15]
Marketing
On the first anniversary of Vaazha, the makers released a special glimpse teasing the sequel. [16] On 2 January 2025, first look of the film released. [17]
