Vaikunth Givind Desai (born 25 May 1942) is an Indian politician and teacher from Goa. [2] He is a former member of the Goa Legislative Assembly representing the Quepem Assembly constituency from 1977 to 1989. [3] He also served as a Deputy speaker [4] from 1980 to 1985 in the Goa Legislative Assembly. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Early life and education

Vaikunt Givind Desai was born at Sheldem, Quepem. He completed his fifth grade of Lyceum. Desai then completed his schooling from Infant Jesus High School, Cuncolim. He graduated from S.P.C. College, Margao. He further completed his Bachelor of Science from Nirmala Institute, Panaji and later received a Master of Education degree from Tilak College Of Education, Pune. [5]

Achyut Kashinath Sinai Usgaonkar also known as A. K. S. Usgaonkar, was an Indian politician who served as the leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. He served as cabinet rank minister in the Shashikala Kakodkar ministry of Goa, Daman and Diu from 13 August 1977 to 27 April 1979. Prior to that, Usgaonkar was deputy minister in the Dayanand Bandodkar ministry and was also deputy speaker of the Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly.

Chandrakant Kavlekar also known as Babu Kavlekar is an Indian politician and former Minister of Town and Country Planning, Agriculture, Archives, Archaeology, Factories and Boilers of Goa. He belongs to Dhangar caste. He was a four-term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly and represented the Quepem constituency.
