Valentina Palmisano (born 24 January 1983) is an Italian politician of the Five Star Movement who was elected member of the European Parliament in 2024. [1] She served as member of the Chamber of Deputies from 2018 to 2022,and has been president of the city council of Ostuni since 2023. [2]

The Diocese of Ostuni was a Roman Catholic diocese located in the town of Ostuni in the province of Brindisi in the region of Apulia in southern Italy. The diocese was in existence by the mid-11th century. In 1818,the diocese was suppressed,and its ecclesiastical territory assigned to the Archdiocese of Brindisi. In 1821,the diocese was revived,but the archbishops of Brindisi were made its perpetual administrator. From 1980 to 1986,Brindisi and Ostuni were suffragans of the ecclesiastical province of Lecce. In 1986,the diocese of Ostuni was completely suppressed and united to the archdiocese of Brindisi.

Matteo Farina was an Italian Roman Catholic. Farina spent his entire life in Brindisi where he was an excellent student who developed a passion for science and for music and who was noted for his devotion to Pio of Pietrelcina and Francis of Assisi,as well as to other saints who were close to him in age. He spent the last decade of his life struggling with a brain tumor that later led to his death;he was forced to seek treatment outside of Brindisi in attempt to remove the tumor.
