Haiti, officially the Republic of Haiti and formerly called Hayti, is a country located on the island of Hispaniola, east of Cuba in the Greater Antilles archipelago of the Caribbean Sea. It occupies the western three-eighths of the island, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. A beauty pageant or beauty contest is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants, although most contests have evolved to also incorporate personality traits, intelligence, talent, and answers to judges' questions as judged criteria. The term refers largely to contests for women such as the Big Four international beauty pageants.

Miss Earth is an annual international environmental-themed beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International, this pageant is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants – the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions. The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote specific projects and often address issues concerning the environment and other global issues through school tours, tree planting activities, street campaigns, coastal clean ups, speaking engagements, shopping mall tours, media guesting, environmental fairs, storytelling programs to children, eco-fashion shows, and other environmental activities. The Miss Earth winner is the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. The Miss Earth Foundation also works with the environmental departments and ministries of participating countries, various private sectors and corporations, as well as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).
Miss Earth 2005, the 5th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, took place on 23 October 2005 in Quezon City, Philippines. A total of 80 candidates from around the globe took part in the event.
Miss Earth 2007, the seventh Miss Earth pageant, was held on 11 November 2007 at the UP Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. The delegates also visited Nha Trang, Vietnam. 88 delegates competed for the title, making 2007 the largest edition of delegates for Miss Earth. The pageant was hosted by MTV Asia VJ Greg Uttsada Panichkul, Priscilla Meirelles and Ginger Conejero. Miss Earth 2006, Hil Hernández from Chile, crowned her successor Jessica Trisko from Canada.

Miss Earth 2013, the 13th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on 7 December 2013 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines. Miss Earth 2012 Tereza Fajksová from Czech Republic crowned her successor Alyz Henrich from Venezuela at the end of the event. 88 contestants competed for this year's pageant, the highest number in Miss Earth history. The pageant was broadcast live internationally on Star World last 7 December 2013, 10:00 a.m. on ABS-CBN, or coverage on Studio 23, TFC-The Filipino Channel, and also on channels of participating counties worldwide. Miss Earth 2008, Karla Henry, was present in the pageant to express the gratitude that the different countries had done to help the Philippines after the devastation that Typhoon Haiyan had caused.
Reinado Internacional del Café 2013, was held in Manizales, Colombia, on January 12, 2013. 23 beauty queens competed for the title. The winner was Ivanna Vale, from Venezuela.

Miss Earth 2016, the 16th Miss Earth pageant, was held on 29 October 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. 83 delegates from different countries and territories competed for this year's prestigious and coveted beauty title with the theme Empowered to make a Change.
Miss Earth 2017, the 17th Miss Earth pageant with the theme "Heroines Fighting Climate Change", was held on November 4, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Katherine Espín of Ecuador crowned Karen Ibasco of the Philippines as her successor. This is the fourth time Philippines won Miss Earth.
Raquel Pélissier is a Haitian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Haiti 2016. She represented Port-au-Prince at the pageant and represented Haiti at Miss Universe 2016 where she ended as 1st Runner-up. Being the first Haitian delegate to place in the finals in 41 years. With their last placement being back in 1975.
Miss International 2017, the 57th Miss International pageant, was held on November 14, 2017 at Tokyo Dome City in Tokyo, Japan. At the end of the event, Kylie Verzosa of Philippines crowned her successor Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia. The show was hosted by Tetsuya Bessho and Amy Ota, while Chemistry performed. This is the second time in Miss International history the crowning of the runners-up was to see last year’s Top 5 winners. This is the first time Indonesia won the Miss International pageant, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
Miss Earth 2018 was the 18th edition of the Miss Earth pageant with the theme "Goddesses of the Earth", held on November 3, 2018 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Karen Ibasco of the Philippines crowned Nguyen Phuong Khanh of Vietnam as her successor. This is the first time Vietnam won the Miss Earth pageant.
Evelyn Alcide is a Haitian drapo Vodou artist born in Port-au-Prince in 1969. Alcide studied under fellow compatriot Myrlande Constant. Alcide often focuses her work on important Vodou religious figures. Her drapo are heavily beaded and have satin borders. Two of her flags depicting Lasirène were included in Mami Wata: Arts for Water Spirits in Africa and Its Diasporas a traveling exhibition orginated at the Fowler Museum at UCLA that travelled to several venues including National Museum of African Art.
Samantha Colas is a Haitian beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Haiti 2018 on July 6, 2018. She will now represent Haiti at Miss Universe 2018 pageant.
