Valley of Bones is a 2017 American adventure/crime thriller film directed by Dan Glaser and starring Autumn Reeser, Rhys Coiro and Steven Molony. Jon L. Wanzek of Bad Medicine Films was the writer, producer and executive producer. [1] It was released in theaters on September 1, 2017 and received mixed reviews from critics. [2]

Plot

A disgraced paleontologist struggling to raise her son is tipped off to a groundbreaking dig site in the Badlands, embarks on a journey through the badlands of western North Dakota to search for a monumental T. rex fossil. She has to team up with a recovering meth addict, with unpaid debts to a drug cartel and threatens to bury them both under the weight of their criminal pasts. [3]

Jon L. Wanzek of Bad Medicine Films was the writer, producer and executive producer, his first full independent feature film. [1] [4] Most of the film was shot on Wanzek's Pitchfork Ranch property near Amidon, North Dakota. [5] [6] Valley of Bones was distributed by Smith Global Media/Sony Pictures and released across the United States in September 2017. [7] [8] [9]

Steven Molony is an American actor, screenwriter, and film producer. His film roles include Pinching Penny, for which he received the award for Best Leading Actor in a Feature Film from the 2011 Indie Fest. He played both Dr. Jeremiah Arkham and Batman in the webseries The Joker Blogs. He starred as identical twin brothers in the feature film Efficiency, for which he also wrote the screenplay. As a part of the film's fundraising on Kickstarter, Molony offered to perform randomly selected stunts for a $5 donation. It went on to play at both Dances With Films and the Austin Film Festival. Both the film and Molony were awarded by the 2014 Accolade Global Film Competition for Best Feature Film and Best Performance by a Leading Actor, respectively.
