After finishing at the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School in Zagreb, he studied piano under Prof. Marina Ambokadze and musicology under Prof Larisa Loginova at the Ino Mirkovich Academy, under the license of the Moscow State Conservatory „P. I. Tchaikovsky“, where he received his master's degree in piano, mentor Prof. Marina Ambokadze.
He finished postgraduate studies of composition at „Komitas“ State Conservatory, Yerevan, Armenia, mentor Prof Armen Smbatyan. He worked as assistant of Prof Armen Smbatyan, rector of the Armenian Conservatory, at the composition department and as assistant of Prof Marina Ambokadze in the piano department of the Ino Mirkovic Academy. In 2005 he moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he worked as a composer, singer and pianist for NTW Productions. Since 2006, he has worked at the UMJETNIČKA ŠKOLA FRANJE LUČIĆA in Velika Gorica, Croatia. He is also composing and performing his own songs and compositions.

Alexander Grigori Arutiunian, also known as Arutunian, Arutyunyan, Arutjunjan, Harutyunian or Harutiunian, was a Soviet and Armenian composer and pianist, widely known for his 1950 Trumpet Concerto. A professor at Yerevan State Conservatory, he was recognized with many awards for his work, including the Stalin Prize in 1949 and People's Artist of the USSR in 1970, as well as numerous honors from his homeland of Armenia.

Armen Tigranian or Tigranyan or Dikranian was an Armenian composer, conductor and sociocultural activist. His best-known work is Anoush, premiered in Alexandropol in 1912. It is the first opera ever performed in Armenia.

Then Stepan Shakaryan founded the jazz sextet Radio, and jazz trios were founded by David Azaryan and Artashes Kartalyan. Jazz pianist Levon Malkhasian ("Malkhas") founded his jazz trio with Armen Toutounjyan ("Chico") and Arthur Abrahamyan. In 1998, Malkhas become one of the initiators of the Yerevan International Jazz Festival.
