Van Fillinger is an American football defensive end for the Utah Utes.

Early life and high school

Fillinger attended Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah. He was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Texas Longhorns. [1] [2] However, Fillinger flipped his commitment to play for the Utah Utes. [3] [4]

Fillinger appeared in 19 games in his first two collegiate seasons in 2020 and 2021, recording 45 tackles with ten being for a loss, and five and a half sacks. [5] [6] [7] In 2022, he played in just eight games before suffering a season-ending injury, finishing with 18 tackles with five being for a loss, five sacks, and a forced fumble. [8] In 2023, Fillinger played in 11 games with eight starts for Utah, where he totaled 31 tackles with five being for a loss, three sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. [9] [10] In week three of the 2024 season, he notched a sack and blocked a kick in a win over Baylor. [11] Mid-way through the 2024 season, Fillinger was added to the Lombardi Award watchlist. [12]

He also was a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Omaha Nighthawks, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers.

Van Noy played his next four seasons for the New England Patriots, where he won Super Bowl LI and Super Bowl LIII. Following a year as a member of the Miami Dolphins, he rejoined New England in 2021. Jared Scott Norris is an American former professional football linebacker who played for the Carolina Panthers and Washington Football Team of the National Football League (NFL). He played high school football at Centennial High School in Bakersfield, California, where he was a three-year starter and three-year letterman. He also earned All-State honors his senior year. Norris played college football at Utah, where he was a three-year starter and four-year letterman. His senior year in 2015, he was named second-team All-Pac-12 and played in the Senior Bowl. During his college career, Norris played in 42 games and started 32 of them. He recorded 269 total tackles, seven sacks, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft, Norris signed with the Panthers. He played in 28 games for the Panthers from 2016 to 2018 and made 11 total tackles. He also appeared in 16 contests for the Washington Football Team from 2020 to 2021, recording six total tackles. Norris was primarily a special teams player during his NFL career. Of the 807 career snaps he took part in, 800 were on special teams.
