Vangaichungpao railway station is a newly commissioned railway station in Tamenglong district, Manipur. Its code is VNGP. It serve Vangaichunpao a village present in west Tamenglong sub-division of Tamenglong District. The station consists of two platforms. [1] This station is directly connected to Agartala, Silchar and other parts of Manipur.

Jadonang Malangmei (1905-1931), popularly known as Haipou Jadonang, was a Naga spiritual leader and political activist from Manipur, British India. He established the Heraka religious movement, which was based on the ancestral Naga religion, and declared himself to be the "messiah king" of the Nagas. His movement was widespread in the Zeliangrong territory before the conversion to Christianity. He also espoused the cause of an independent Naga kingdom, which brought him in conflict with the colonial British rulers of India. He was hanged by the British in 1931, and succeeded by his cousin Rani Gaidinliu.

The 2016 Imphal earthquake struck northeast India in the state of Manipur on January 4 with a moment magnitude of 6.7 and a maximum Mercalli intensity of VII. Its epicentre was located in the Tamenglong district; about 30 km west of Imphal. At least 11 people were killed, 200 others were injured and numerous buildings were damaged. The quake was also strongly felt in Bangladesh. It was also extensively felt in eastern and north-eastern India. The earthquake, which hit at 4:35 a.m. on 4 January local time, was centered in an isolated area. Imphal has a population of more than 250,000. It was one of the most damaging earthquakes in Manipur since 1880 and 1939.

Noney, also known as Longmai, is a town located in the western part of Manipur, India. It is 63 kilometres (39 mi) west of Imphal, the capital of the state of Manipur. Its population is almost entirely made up of Rongmei Naga.Previously known as a village, recently has been declared as one of the new district headquarters of Manipur and is separated from the existing Tamenglong District and now comprises Haochong, Khoupum, Nungba and the Longmai subdivision.

Samuel Jendai Kamei is an Indian politician, belonging to the North Eastern district Tamenglong, Manipur. He was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Tamenglong constituency in the 1995, 2000, 2002 and 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly election. Previously, he was a member of Manipur State Congress Party, Federal Party of Manipur and Naga People's Front and Bhartiya Janata Party.
