Vasant Shankar Davkhare was an Indian politician of the Nationalist Congress Party. He had been the Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council since 1998. [1] [2] [3]
On 22 May 2010 Davkhare's wife died due to massive cardiac arrest. [4] Davkhare died on 4 January 2018 from kidney failure.[ citation needed ] Vasant Davkhare was known for maintaining good relations with all political parties and leaders in Maharashtra. He had good hold on Thane politics in his full career. Shiv Sena Thane's giant leader Anand Dighe and Vasant Davkhare's friendship is idol for all politicians until date from two different parties. Vasant Davkhare was unopposed elected thrice by direct support by Shiv sena Chief late shri. Balasaheb Thackeray. Former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh,Bahujan Vikas Aghadi Chief Hitendra Thakur (Appa) were known to be best friends of late. Shri Vasant Davkhare.

Apart from government,political families also control cooperative institutions,mainly cooperative sugar factories,district cooperative banks in the state,and since the 1980s private for profit colleges. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also features several senior leaders who are dynasts. In Maharashtra,the NCP has particularly high level of dynasticism.
Vinayak Raut is an Indian politician serving as the Member of Parliament,Loksabha. He is leader of Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha representing Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha. Originally from Mumbai,Raut was previously elected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Vile Parle of Mumbai for 1999-2004 as a Shiv Sena candidate.
