Vazgen Safaryants (born 22 October 1984 in Ordzhonikidze) is a Belarusian amateur boxer of Armenian origin best known for placing third at the 2006 European Amateur Boxing Championships. [1]

Vazgen Zaveni Sargsyan was an Armenian military commander and politician. He was the first Defence Minister of Armenia from 1991 to 1992 and then from 1995 to 1999. He served as Armenia's Prime Minister from 11 June 1999 until his assassination on 27 October of that year. He rose to prominence during the mass movement for the unification of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia in the late 1980s and led Armenian volunteer groups during the early clashes with Azerbaijani forces. Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium, also known as the Republican Stadium, is an all-seater multi-use stadium located on 65 Vardanants street, in the Armenian capital Yerevan. The stadium was built between 1933 and 1935. It was officially opened in 1935 as Dinamo Stadium. Further developments were implemented in 1953, after the end of World War II. It is mainly used for association football and is the home ground of the Armenia national football team. The capacity of the stadium is 14,403 seats.

The Lightweight competition at the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships was held from 15–26 October 2013. Boxers were limited to a weight of 60 kilograms.
