The Men's 2013 European Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Minsk, Belarus from June 1 to June 8, 2013. It is the 40th edition of this biennial competition organised by the European governing body for amateur boxing, the EUBC.

Contents

37 countries, 208 sportsmen took part in the competition.

The organization of this championships cost 11 billion Br (Belarusian currency, 1 mln. Eu) for the Belarusian government.

Schedule

From 1 June–3 June the preliminaries were held, on June 4–05 the quarterfinals in all categories were held. The semifinals took place on June 7 with the finals at June 08. [1]

Amateur boxing Boxing by non-professionals

Amateur boxing is a variant of boxing practised at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as many associations.

The European Amateur Boxing Championships is the highest competition for boxing amateurs in Europe, organised by the continent's governing body EUBC, which stands for the European Boxing Confederation. The first edition of the tournament took place in 1924, although the first 'competitive' championships were hosted by the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in 1925.

Dmitry "Shok" Shakuta is a Belarusian Muay Thai super middleweight kickboxer fighting out of Minsk, Belarus for the SK-55 gym. He is an eight-time amateur and professional world champion who is most well known for being the It's Showtime 77MAX world champion between 2008 and 2009.

W.A.K.O. European Championships 2004 in Budva were the joint seventeenth European championships and were the fourth W.A.K.O. championships to be held in Serbia and Montenegro/Yugoslavia. The event was open to around 300 amateur men and women from 26 nations from across Europe.

The Men's 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships was held in Ankara, Turkey from June 17 to June 24, 2011. It was the 39th edition of this biennial competition organised by the European governing body for amateur boxing, the EUBC.

Siarhei Karneyeu is a Belarusian amateur boxer in the Heavyweight division who won bronze the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships.

Alexei Alexandrovich Kudin is a professional Belarusian kickboxer, nicknamed Brick. He is a world champion and European versions WBKF, King of Kings – Grand Prix K-1 tournament finalist, which was held December 16, 2010, in Odintsovo. In addition to competition in kickboxing, Alexei Kudin had many professional fights in mixed martial arts.

Dzianis Hancharonak, sometimes spelt Denis Goncheronok, is a Belarusian heavyweight Muay Thai kickboxer fighting out of Minsk for Patriot Gym. He is a five-time amateur Muay Thai I.F.M.A world champion and holds a national degree of honored master of sports in Muay Thai. Inside the amateur ring, he enjoyed victories over notable athletes including: Nenad Pagonis, Franci Grajš, Simon Marcus and Vladimir Mineev.
