The St. John's Junior Hockey League is a Junior B ice hockey league in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. Founded in 1980, the SJJHL was a recognized Junior A league from 1989 until 1991. This stretch as a Junior A league marks the last time any Newfoundland or Labrador league competed in the Junior A National Playdowns.

The Herder Memorial Trophy, or Herder, is the championship trophy to be awarded annually to the senior ice hockey champions of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The cast silver trophy was originally donated in 1935 by the Herder family, then owners of The Evening Telegram newspaper, as a memorial to five brothers who played hockey in St. John's. The first winner of the Herder trophy was a team from Corner Brook that won the inaugural all-Newfoundland hockey championship on March 22, 1935. The most recent winners were the Southern Shore Breakers on April 23, 2022.
