Veronika Slowikowska is a Canadian actress and comedian. She is best known for her Internet sketch comedy and for a recurring role as Shanice in What We Do in the Shadows . Slowikowska stars opposite Jaelynn Thora Brooks in the 2024 science fiction teen comedy television series Davey & Jonesie's Locker . [1] [2]

Early life and education

Slowikowska was born in Barrie, Ontario shortly after her parents immigrated to Canada from Poland. [3] She graduated from the Randolph College for the Performing Arts in 2015. [4] In 2020, she graduated from the Canadian Film Centre's Actor's Conservatory. [1]

Career

Slowikowska began her comedy career in the Toronto musical comedy troupe My Chemical Bromance. She appeared in a recurring role as Shanice on the first two seasons of What We Do in the Shadows . [5]

In 2020, Slowikowska released the single "So Many Lies" to promote the upcoming Heartland series Becoming Alex. The follow-up single, "Homesick," was released in 2021. [6]

Slowikowska starred as Greta Hansen in the 2022 CBC Television comedy series Homeschooled and appeared as Amber Whitelaw in the OutTV horror comedy series EZRA. [7] [8]

In 2023, Slowikowska launched the podcast nevermind. with co-host Kyle Chase and appeared in the Amazon Freevee original Christmas movie EXmas . [9] [10] The following year, she starred as Davey in Davey & Jonesie's Locker , an Amazon Prime Video and Hulu co-production. [2]

Davey & Jonesie's Locker is a science fiction teen comedy television series created by Evany Rosen and co-commissioned by Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. The series stars Veronika Slowikowska and Jaelynn Thora Brooks as two high school students who discover that their locker is a portal to the multiverse.
