VerseChorusVerse is the musical moniker of the Irish musician, writer and actor Tony Wright. He is the founding member of And So I Watch You From Afar. [1] [2]
Born Michael Anthony Wright, [3] he began learning the guitar at age eight, taught by his mother, and at age thirteen he started performing in public. He formed And So I Watch You From Afar in 2004 with members of his previous band. Wright left the band in unclear circumstances late 2011 after releasing two albums and three EPs. [4]
Wright has released several albums post-ASIWYFA, VerseChorusVerse (2014), Say & Do (2015), Fawkes Ache as The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan (2017), outro (2018), and what if we won (2021) as well as three EPs and two singles.
To accompany his third EP, "The Inches EP", Wright moved into the moving visual art medium for the first time, releasing a video for each track. The first eponymous album was produced by Iain Archer and was nominated for the 2014 NI Music Prize. In 2015 he released Say & Do, a collaborative album of his original songs produced by and featuring David Lyttle. It charted at number 21 on the UK iTunes album charts and number 1 on the Amazon Blues Charts. [5]
Wright released an album, Fawkes Ache, with his side project, The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan, in 2017. [6]
On 25 June 2018 Wright released his third album, "outro". The Thin Air saw the album as "a return to the edge & dynamic he brought ASIWYFA". [7] The Irish Times stated the album, "...touches on a dazzling array of styles and sees Wright at the peak of his powers, writing, performing and releasing the best material he’s done since the first two, classic ASIWYFA albums" [8] and "his VerseChorusVerse creative vehicle has grown into a fully fledged musical entity, effortlessly creating songs that can uplift and comfort – which is ultimately what great music, and art, should be all about". In 2017, he finished filming for his debut motion picture, a small role in the biopic of Bert Trautmann, The Keeper, which was released in early 2019. He also contributed writing and co-starred in the popular web-series, "The Also-Rans". [9]
His contribution to Arts from Northern Ireland was recognised and rewarded by becoming Artist in Residence at The MAC Belfast for July through to December 2018. [9] [ dead link ] During this time he published his first book, Chapter & Verse(ChorusVerse) - Another Dickhead on the Road. The book was named as one of the Irish Times music books of the year. [10]
In 2019, Wright released a double A side single, "Hold On (A Subtle Act of Rebellion)/There Will Come Soft Rains", with all proceeds going to the Northern Ireland division of the charity, Help Musicians UK. [11]

"Alive" is the debut single by American rock band Pearl Jam. It was released on July 7, 1991, 51 days before the release of the band's debut album, Ten, on which "Alive" appears. Written by guitarist Stone Gossard, the song originated as an instrumental titled "Dollar Short" and was included on a demo tape circulated in hopes of finding a singer for the group. "Please" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the eleventh track on their ninth album, Pop (1997), and was released as its fourth single on 22 September 1997. As with "Sunday Bloody Sunday", the song is about The Troubles in Northern Ireland. The single cover for this song features pictures of four Northern Irish politicians – Gerry Adams, David Trimble, Ian Paisley, and John Hume. Two months before the release of the single, live versions of "Please" and three other songs from the PopMart Tour were released on the Please: PopHeart Live EP in September 1997.

Lisa Margaret Hannigan is an Irish musician, singer, composer, and voice actress. She began her musical career as a member of Damien Rice's band. Since beginning her solo career in 2007 she has released three albums: Sea Sew (2008), Passenger (2011), and At Swim (2016). Hannigan's music has received award nominations both in Ireland and the United States. Hannigan also received attention in North America for her role as Blue Diamond in Steven Universe, an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar.

Cody employs playing the card game of solitaire as a metaphor for a man "who lost his love through his indifference"—"while life goes on around him everywhere he's playing solitaire". It was slated for release on the album that became Warsaw, which was originally scrapped by the band and not released until 1994. The song appears to be a somewhat fantastical biography of Rudolf Hess, Hitler's Deputy Führer, who flew to Great Britain in 1941 in an attempt to negotiate a peace between Germany and the UK, supposedly because of his disillusionment with National Socialism.
