Vyacheslav Ivanovskiy (also "Viacheslav"; born August 14, 1975, Russia, Novosibirsk) is a Russian former Olympic weightlifter. [1]

Weightlifting career

Ivanovskiy won the silver medal at the 1995 Junior European Weightlifting Championships in Beer Sheva, Israel, in the Sub-Heavyweight class (lifting 370.0 kg). [2] He won the bronze medal at the 1996 European Weightlifting Championships, in the Sub-Heavyweight class (lifting 377.5 kg). [1]

Ivanovskiy competed for Israel at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, at the age of 20, in Weightlifting-Men's Heavyweight I (99 kg). [1] [3] He did not complete a lift in the snatch at 175.0 kg, and did not finish. [1] [4] When he competed in the Olympics, he weighed 218 lbs (99 kg). [1]

He won the gold medal in the 1998 European Weightlifting Championships, in the Heavyweight class (lifting 402.5 kg). [1] Ivanovskiy came in 4th at the 1999 European Weightlifting Championships in Spain in the 105 kg class, with a total lift of 402.5 kg. [5]

Ivanovskiy came in 6th at the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Turkey in the 105 kg class, with a total lift of 438.7 kg. [6] He came in 4th in the 2002 World Weightlifting Championships in Poland in the 105 kg class, with a total lift of 441.4. [7]

Tigran Vardan Martirosyan is an Armenian weightlifter. He is 175 cm tall. Martirosyan was awarded the Honored Master of Sports of Armenia title in 2009.

Weightlifting was introduced to Armenia in the late 1920s and became widely practiced after World War II. Today, it is one of the country's most popular sports. The sport is regulated by the Armenian Weightlifting Federation. The first weightlifters from Soviet Armenia made successful appearances the international stage in the 1970s. Vardan Militosyan won a silver at the 1976 Olympics, and later Yurik Vardanyan became an Olympic, World and European champion through the late 1970s and the early 1980s. Oksen Mirzoyan and Yurik Sarkisyan rose to top positions in the 1980s. After its independence from the Soviet Union, Armenia successfully held its weightlifting traditions and continues to be one of the strongest nations in Europe. In 2008, the Armenia team placed first at the European Championship. In the 2008 Summer Olympics Armenia won three bronze medals. Robert Dołęga is a Polish weightlifter. He won a silver medal for the heavyweight division at the 2000 European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, and bronze at the 2008 European Weightlifting Championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy.

Roman Aleksandrovich Konstantinov is a Russian weightlifter. He won the bronze medal for the 94 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and eventually claimed his first ever career title at the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with a total of 397 kg. He also added a silver medal to his collection from the 2007 European Weightlifting Championships in Strasbourg, France.
