Victor Eric Webber (Australia) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition.

Playing career

Webber, a Winger, played for the Eastern Suburbs in the years 1927 and '28. In the 1928 season Webber played in the Eastern Suburbs side that was defeated by South Sydney in that year's premiership decider. Webber was a participant in rugby league first night match, a 10 aside exhibition game that took place in December 1928. [2]

Webber also played one game for foundation club Glebe in 1926 which was against Eastern Suburbs at Wentworth Park.

Sydney Roosters Australian rugby league football club

The Sydney Roosters is an Australian professional rugby league football club. They are based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition and is one of the oldest and most successful clubs. Raymond Ernest Stehr was an Australian rugby league footballer, a state and national representative player whose club career was played at Sydney's Eastern Suburbs club. He has been named as one of the nation's finest footballers of the 20th century.

The 1908 NSWRFL season was the inaugural season of the New South Wales Rugby Football League's premiership, Australia's first rugby league football club competition, in which nine clubs competed from April till August 1908. In late 2007, the Australian Rugby League and National Rugby League commissioned 130 experts to select the 100 best rugby league players in the game's 100-year history in Australia. He was the brother of fellow South Sydney footballers, Oliver Why and Alby Why.
