Vicki Williams (born April 21, 1956) is a retired female professional wrestler. She held the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship three times with Joyce Grable.
During a match in June 1971, midget wrestler Darlin Dagmar teamed with Williams to defeat midget wrestler Diamond Lil and Ann Casey. [3] The following year, Williams was a contender to The Fabulous Moolah's NWA World Women's Championship, facing her for the title in Baltimore in May 1972. [4] In August, Moolah once again defeated Williams—with the title on the line—at the first Superbowl of Wrestling event.
The team of Williams and Joyce Grable won the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship from Donna Christanello and Toni Rose on October 15, 1973 in New York City. [5] It was not until October 1975 that Rose and Christanello regained the title from Grable and Williams. [5]
As a part of a Jim Crockett Promotions' card, Williams once again faced The Fabulous Moolah for the World Women's Championship, losing to Moolah on July 30, 1976 at the Richmond Coliseum before an audience of 11,000 people. [6] That same year, she was the third runner-up for Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Girl Wrestler of the Year award, losing to Sue Green. [7] In August 1979, the team of Grable and Williams defeated The Glamour Girls (Leilani Kai and Judy Martin) to begin their second reign as NWA Women's Tag Champions. [5]
Williams also competed in Mexico's Universal Wrestling Association, where she was the inaugural UWA World Women's Champion. [8] She defeated Irma González on December 6, 1979 to win the title for the first time, but she lost it two weeks later to Estela Melina. [8] She held the title two more times in 1980, losing it for the final time to Chabela Romero. [8]
Patty Seymour is an American retired professional wrestler, better known by her ring name Leilani Kai. She began training with The Fabulous Moolah right after finishing high school. In the 1980s, as part of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF)'s Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection, a storyline that combined wrestling and music, Kai defeated Wendi Richter to become the Women's Champion. Kai, however, lost the title at the inaugural WrestleMania event. She was later paired with Judy Martin, in a tag team that would become known as The Glamour Girls. The team held the Women's Tag Team Championship twice and the LPWA Tag Team Championship once.
Velvet McIntyre is an Irish-born Canadian retired professional wrestler. After beginning her career in 1980, she wrestled in American independent promotions before joining the World Wrestling Federation. She had rivalries with both The Fabulous Moolah and Sherri Martel and held the WWF Women's Championship and WWF Women's Tag Team Championship. After the WWF's women's division went on hiatus in the 1990s, McIntyre wrestled in several Canadian promotions, holding several championships.
Hiroaki Hamada, better known by his ring name Gran Hamada, is a Japanese professional wrestler, the first to adopt the high-flying Mexican lucha libre style. He has wrestled for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, the Universal Wrestling Federation, Michinoku Pro and All Japan Pro Wrestling and was the founder of Universal Lucha Libre. He has also had stints with the World Wrestling Federation and Extreme Championship Wrestling in the United States. His daughters Xóchitl Hamada and Ayako Hamada are professional Japanese-Mexican wrestlers.
Sangre Chicana is the ring name of retired Mexican professional wrestler Andrés Durán Reyes. He rose to prominence in a feud with El Cobarde and Fishman that led to a Lucha de Apuesta, mask vs. mask match where Reyes lost his mask.
Mary Alfonsi, better known by her ring name Donna Christanello, was an American professional wrestler active between 1963 and 1991. Trained by The Fabulous Moolah, she frequently wrestled Ann Casey, Vicki Williams, Evelyn Stevens and Leilani Kai throughout the 1970s.
Juan Conrado Aguilar Jáuregui, better known by his ring name El Texano, was a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler. From the early 1970s to the early 2000s, he wrestled under masked and unmasked monikers for various promotions including Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), World Wrestling Council (WWC), World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). His son Juan Aguilar Leos wrestles under the name El Texano, Jr. in tribute to his father and another son wrestles as the masked Super Nova.
Jesús Alvarado Nieves was a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, who worked under the ring name Brazo de Oro. He was a part of the Alvarado wrestling family, the son of Shadito Cruz and brother of Brazo de Plata, El Brazo, Brazo Cibernético, Super Brazo and Brazo de Platino. His son Felipe de Jesús Alvarado Mendoza currently works as La Máscara for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. His nephews, Máximo Sexy and Psycho Clown are featured wrestlers for CMLL and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide respectively.
Betty Wade-Murphy, better known by her ring name Joyce Grable, was an American professional wrestler. She was the long-term tag team partner of Wendi Richter. She held the NWA United States Women's Championship once and the NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship six times—three with Richter and three with her other tag team partner Vicki Williams.
The UWA World Women's Championship was a singles women's professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling based promotion Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) from 1975 until the UWA closed in 1995 and since then defended on the Mexican independent circuit. Zuleyma was the reigning champion when UWA closed and she sporadically defended the title over the next 10 years, often with over a year between title defenses. The last champion was Miss Janeth with no recorded title defenses after 2003.
María Dolores González is a Mexican professional wrestler, known by her ringname Lola González, who has competed in the Universal Wrestling Association and the World Wrestling Association for over three decades. At one time one of the most popular female tecnicos in Mexico, she dominated the UWA World Women's Championship during the mid-to late 1980s holding the title a record four times. She is the real-life sister of luchadora Leslie González and ex-wife of wrestler Fishman.
Sandy Parker is a Canadian retired professional wrestler. She debuted in 1969, wrestling in Canada, the United States, and Japan. In Japan, she worked for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling, holding numerous titles. She also had an unofficial NWA Women's World Tag Team Championship reign with partner Sue Green.
Genaro Jacobo Contreras, better known by his ring name Ringo Mendoza, is a Mexican professional wrestling trainer and retired luchador for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Mendoza wrestled his last match in 2011, transitioning to being a full-time trainer instead.
Lucille Ann Casey was an American professional wrestler, better known by her ring name Ann Casey, or Panther Girl.
Toni Rose is an American retired professional wrestler. During her wrestling career, Rose captured the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship on five occasions; three times with Donna Christanello, and twice with her trainer, The Fabulous Moolah. Rose is also a former one-time NWA Southern Women's Championship.
Dorrel "Dory" Dixon is a Jamaican retired professional wrestler who worked for the majority of his career in Mexico, where he eventually became a Mexican citizen. He is currently a pastor for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, preaching about religion and physical health all over Mexico.
Pedro Jacobo Contreras is a semi-retired Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler best known under the ring name Cachorro Mendoza. Cachorro Mendoza means "Cub Mendoza" in English and refers to the fact that he is the youngers of the Mendoza brothers Ringo, Indio and Freddy all of whom are Luchadors. Over the years he's worked extensively for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) and the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), often teaming with his brothers, especially Ringo Mendoza. The Mendoza brothers have held the Mexican National Tag Team Championship on one occasion, and he has also held the Mexican National Middleweight Championship, the NWA World Middleweight Championship and the UWA World Middleweight Championship during his career. Cotreras briefly worked as Máscara Sagrada on the Mexican Independent circuit, using the outfit and name of the original Máscara Sagrada without permission. He retired from professional wrestling in the late 1990s but returned to the ring in 2009 to team with his brother Ringo Mendoza on a series of shows promoted by International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG).
José Luis Alvarado Nieves was a Mexican luchador best known under the ring name Brazo de Plata, a name he had used since his debut in 1977. He is also well known for his appearances in WWE as Super Porky. Alvarado was a member of the Alvarado wrestling family which includes his father Shadito Cruz, five brothers who used the "Brazo" name at some point and several third-generation wrestlers who have appeared over the last couple of years.
Isabela "Chabela" Romero Rangel was a Mexican professional wrestler. She was one of the first Mexican women to become a professional wrestler when women became a regular fixture in the early 1950s. During her career she won the Mexican National Women's Championship three times, and both the UWA World Women's Championship and the Japanese All Pacific Championship once.
Irma Eugenia Aguilar Morales is a Mexican former professional wrestler, most commonly known under the ring name Irma Aguilar. She is the daughter of Irma González, a pioneer of women's professional wrestling in Mexico. Her career start in 1975, with her last known match taking place in 1997.
