Ana Victoria García Pérez, known as Vickiana (born July 15, 1958, in Santiago, Dominican Republic) is a singer, vedette and television presenter. The producer and host of the television program "Vickiana, the forbidden" (Vickiana, lo prohibido) became very popular in music from 1980. Since 1981, Vickiana has been the recipient of many awards. Vickiana is considered an icon of the Dominican Gay Community. [2] Her son, Luis Gilberto, launched an artistic career in 2022. [2] A diabetic, Vickiana suffered a myocardial infarction in 1999, a diabetic coma in 2011, [3] and a heart attack in 2019. [4]

João Gilberto was a Brazilian guitarist, singer, and composer who was a pioneer of the musical genre of bossa nova in the late 1950s. Around the world, he was often called the "father of bossa nova"; in his native Brazil, he was referred to as "O Mito" . The Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium is open-air multi-purpose stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Opened in 1974 for the XII Central American & Caribbean Games and renovated 2003 Pan American Games is the largest stadium in the Dominican Republic used mostly for football and track and field and as a music venue. The stadium has a sporting events' capacity of 27,000 people, though it has seen crowds of 35,000. For concerts, its stated capacity is 50,000 people.
Bachata Rosa is the fifth studio album by Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra and his group 4.40. It was released on 11 December 1990, by Karen Records. It brought bachata music into the mainstream in the Dominican Republic and gave the genre an international audience. A Portuguese version of the record was released in 1992 under the title Romance Rosa; it was certified gold in Brazil. The album received a Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album and two Lo Nuestro Awards for Tropical Album of the Year and Tropical Group of the Year.
"Amor Prohibido" is the title song of American Tejano singer Selena's fourth studio album of the same name (1994). Released as the lead single through EMI Latin on April 13, 1994, it was written by Selena, her brother and music producer A.B. Quintanilla III, and her band's backup vocalist Pete Astudillo. A popular interpretation compares it to Romeo and Juliet.
Areíto is the sixth album by Juan Luis Guerra with his band 440, released on 8 December 1992, by Karem Records. The album, meant to be a tribute to the indigenous tribes of the Dominican Republic, is named after a dance that the aboriginal inhabitants of the Greater Antilles (Taínos) accompanied with songs during their festivals and religious rites. The album contains twelve tracks including "Cuando te Beso", interpret by Santo Domingo Philharmonic Orchestra. Congolese musician Diblo Dibala played guitar on the song "El Costo de la Vida", which was a Spanish cover of his own soukous song "Kimia Eve", while the last track on the album, "Naboria daca, mayanimacaná", is sung in Arawak, the language of the Taíno people. Areíto was originally set to be released in early April 1992, but was first delayed to the end of October 1992 and was finally released on 8 December 1992.

Garcia has collaborated in concerts with renowned artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Sanz, Cultura Profetica, Juanes, Ximena Sariñana and Maná among others. He has won three Latin Grammy awards including Best New Artist in 2017.
La Cosquillita is the lead single of the seventh studio album Fogarate! by dominican superstar Juan Luis Guerra. It was released on June 21, 1994 by Karen Records. The rural merengue track was written and produced with the Dominican accordionist Francisco Ulloa and his band. About the success of the track, Guerra stated "With the `perico ripiao' we are doing the same thing that we did with the `bachata,' breaking down the barriers that prevent it from reaching all of Dominican society, and then exporting it". The song became Guerra's first number-one hit in his native Dominican Republic; and became a top-ten hit in Spain, Venezuela and the US Hot Latin Songs chart.
