Victor Lazzarini (born 1969) is a Brazilian-Irish composer [1] and computer music researcher. [2] Born in Londrina, Brazil, he studied music in the local conservatory and completed his B.Mus. (Composition) at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He received a doctorate from the University of Nottingham in 1996. Since 1998, he has been working at Maynooth University, where he is currently a Professor of Music and Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy. [3]
Lazzarini is one of the leading developers of Csound [4] along with John ffitch and Steven Yi, and the author of the Sound Object (SndObj) Library. Lazzarini has contributed a number of new sound synthesis techniques such as Modified FM Synthesis, [5] [6] Vector Phase Shaping, [7] Feedback AM, [8] and Adaptive Frequency Modulation. [9] He is the co-editor, with Richard Boulanger, of the Audio Programming Book. [10]
Lazzarini has composed music for films, [11] [12] [13] as well as electronic and instrumental works. [14] [15] He was the winner of the AIC/IMRO Mostly Modern International Composer's Competition in Ireland and the Hallward Composition Prize in the UK. [16] [17]

Yamaha SY77 is a 16 voice multitimbral music workstation first produced by Yamaha Corporation in 1989. The SY77 is a synthesizer whose architecture combines AFM synthesis, AWM2 for ROM-borne sample-based synthesis, and the combination of these two methods christened Realtime Convolution and Modulation Synthesis (RCM). The same technology was also packaged in a rack-mounted module released simultaneously, the TG77.
