Victoria Hanson is an American ice hockey goaltender, currently playing with the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF).
From 2013 to 2017, she attended Boston University. [1] [2] She was named a Hockey East First Team All-Star in her senior year, the first goalie from the university to be named to the first all star team in a decade. [3] [4]
After graduating, she moved to Germany to sign with the Mad Dogs Mannheim, serving as the team's starting goaltender. She would only play a season with Mannheim before returning to North America and stepping away from competitive hockey for the 2018-19 season.
She returned to professional play in 2019 to sign with the PHF's Boston Pride, serving as the team's backup goaltender behind Lovisa Selander. [5] She went 6-0 in her rookie NWHL season, posting a .919 save percentage and 1.97 GAA, including her first professional shutout in a victory over the Connecticut Whale, as the Pride made it to the Isobel Cup finals before the year was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. [6] She re-signed with the Pride for the 2020–21 NWHL season, with general manager Karilyn Pilch stating that she was "a fierce competitor and an excellent technical goalie." [7]
At Boston University, Hanson was enrolled in the Questrom School of Business, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and management. [8] Her father, Mark Hanson, played as a goaltender for Providence College in the 70s, and served as a goaltending coach for Harvard University until 2018, and her sister, Elizabeth Hanson, played as a goaltender for Elmira College from 2017 to 2020. Jillian T. Dempsey is an American ice hockey player who currently captains the Boston Pride in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She currently holds the all-time PHF records for games played, goals, assists, and points, and has won both the Clarkson Cup and the Isobel Cup.
Brittany "The Otter" Ott is an American professional ice hockey player. As of 2021, Ott plays for the New Hampshire region team in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. She previously played two seasons for the Boston Blades in the Canadian Women's Hockey League and four seasons with Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Ott played college hockey for the Maine Black Bears before declaring herself into the 2013 CWHL Draft. She is the first goaltender to have won the Clarkson Cup and the Isobel Cup in a career.
The Boston Pride are a professional women's ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are one of the four charter franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League. The Pride play at Warrior Ice Arena, which is also the practice facility for the Boston Bruins of the NHL. They won the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016 and became the first professional women's ice hockey team to win three championship titles when they claimed consecutive victories in 2021 and 2022.
The Buffalo Beauts are a professional ice hockey team based in Amherst, New York, United States. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), originally named the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). They play at Northtown Center in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst. The team played at Harborcenter in downtown Buffalo for their first four seasons. The team has advanced to the Isobel Cup Finals in the NWHL's first four seasons, winning in 2016–17.
Kaleigh Fratkin is a Canadian women's ice hockey player with the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). The third-longest tenured player and leading scorer among defenders in PHF history, she was the first Canadian player to sign a contract in the league, is a four-time PHF all-star, and is a two-time PHF Defender of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She was also a member of the Boston Pride roster that captured the 2021 and 2022 Isobel Cup. Previous to the joining the NWHL, she won the Clarkson Cup in 2015 and was the first girl to play boys' midget AAA hockey in British Columbia.
Kathleen "Katie" Fitzgerald is an American ice hockey player who currently plays for the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). She previously played for the Metropolitan Riveters in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Having played NCAA hockey with the St. Cloud State Huskies, she was the first Husky to sign a contract in the PHF.
