Early life

Malvade was born on 2 March 1973 [1] [2] in Maharashtra, India. She is the niece of veteran actress Smita Patil.[ citation needed ] She has two sisters . [3]

Career

Vidya started her career as an air hostess. She then began modelling and was chosen by ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar for some advertisements.[ citation needed ] Her acting debut was with Vikram Bhatt's Inteha (2003) which failed at the box office. [4] After a string of unsuccessful movies and several advertisements, she acted in Chak De India in the year 2007 playing the role of a goalie and captain of the Indian women's national hockey team. [5] Her most recent movie was Yaara Silly Silly . [6]

Personal life

Vidya studied Law and worked as an Air Hostess. [7] Her first husband, Capt. Arvind Singh Bagga, [8] was a pilot with Alliance Air. He died in 2000 when his flight, Alliance Air Flight 7412, [8] crashed into a building in Patna. In 2009, she married Sanjay Dayma, who worked with Ashutosh Gowariker on the Oscar award-nominated Lagaan as the film's Screenplay Writer and Associate Director. [9]

1920: The Evil Returns is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language supernatural horror film written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Bhushan Patel. A quasi-sequel to the 2008 film 1920, and the second of the 1920 film series, it stars Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai, Vidya Malvade and Sharad Kelkar. The film is third in a series of quasi-sequels released under the Bhatt Banner including Raaz – The Mystery Continues, Murder 2, Jism 2, Jannat 2 and Raaz 3D each of which had nothing to do with their respective prequels, but somehow fell in the same genre following a similar story. The trailer was released on 28 September 2012.
