Punit Jayesh Pathak (born 1 November 1986), is an Indian dancer, choreographer and actor. In 2019, he participated in Colors TV's Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and emerged as the winner.

Early and personal life

Punit Jayesh Pathak was born on 1 November 1986. Initially, he dreamed of becoming a cricketer or a filmmaker, but during college, he developed a passion for dancing. However, his father was opposed to the idea and insisted that Pathak take over the family business, Punit Yarn Agency Private Limited. Eventually, Pathak's younger brother took on the responsibility of running the family business.

On 16 August 2020, Pathak got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Nidhi Moony Singh, and they were married on 11 December 2020. [1]

Career

In 2009, Pathak participated in the dance reality show Dance India Dance 2 , which aired on Zee TV.

In 2013, he debuted as an actor in the 3D dance-based film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance co-starring Dharmesh Yelande, Prabhu Deva and Salman Yusuff Khan. [2] Later, he appeared in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a choreographer. [3] He was the judge of Dance India Dance 5 on Zee TV.

In 2015, he starred in the film, ABCD 2 , directed by Remo D'Souza, co-starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva and Raghav Juyal. Later, he became a mentor on the dance reality show Dance Plus . [4] He was also a choreographer in Dance Champions .

In 2018, he starred in the romantic comedy film Nawabzaade , which was released on 27 July 2018, directed by Jayesh Pradhan and produced by Lizelle D'Souza and Matur K. Barot, co-starring Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande and Isha Rikhi.

In 2019, he participated in Colors TV's stunt-based reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and emerged as the winner. His team also performed in Isha Ambani's sangeet ceremony. He also choreographed the finale performance of the IPL (2019). He was later called as a guest on Khatra Khatra Khatra .

In 2020, he appeared in the dance film Street Dancer 3D which was released on 24 January 2020, directed by Remo D'Souza, co-starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Nora Fatehi and Raghav Juyal. [5]

ABCD: Anybody Can Dance is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language dance drama film directed and choreographed by choreographer Remo D'Souza and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Spotboy Motion Pictures. The film stars Prabhu Deva in the lead role along with Ganesh Acharya and Kay Kay Menon. The participants in Dance India Dance appear in supporting roles. The Kings is an Indian hip-hop dance group from Vasai, a city in Maharashtra. They won NBC'S World of Dance and came third at World Hip Hop Dance Championship. Emmy awards nominee Suresh Mukund, is the choreographer and director of the group.

<i>Dance Plus</i> season 2 2nd season

Season 2 of Dance Plus tagline Get Set Go premiered on 2 July 2016 on Star Plus. It was created and produced by Varun Trikha Productions, Urban Brew Studios and Frames Production and aired for 25 episodes. This time there were two talents from Nepal who progressed to the Grand Finale. Mokshda Jailkhani was the first contestant to get the double plus. Wild Ripperz set the record by gaining Double Plus for 8 consecutive times. Auditions were conducted across several cities of India from 3 May 2016 to 26 May 2016. This show was hosted by Raghav Juyal.

<i>Dance Plus</i> season 3 Season of television series

Season 3 of Dance Plus tag line ek level up started on 1 July 2017 on STAR Plus and produced by Urban Brew Studios. Winner was Bir Radha Sherpa, from team Punit. Other three contestants from Top four were from Dharmesh's team, a new record for the finalists. Amardeep Singh Natt became the first runner up, Aryan Patra became the second runner up and Shivani and Tarun were the third runner up. All the finalists won the hearts of public with their entertaining and excellent performances. Overall, Team Dharmesh has two winners from season one and two, Team Punit has one and Shakti Mohan has none. Show is acclaimed and very popular due to creative format and uniqueness.
