Vincent Angelini (born 12 September 2003) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi Pro League club Al-Riyadh.
Angelini is a product of the Celtic Academy and began his professional career with the club. Following spells with Watford U23 and Brentford B, Angelini's senior career began with Al-Riyadh in 2024.
A goalkeeper, Angelini played for and coached at St Cadoc's during his youth career. [3] He later joined the Celtic Academy and progressed to sign a two-year professional contract at the age of 16 in August 2019. [4] Upon the expiry of the contract at the end of the 2020–21 season and after having been with Celtic for a decade, [5] Angelini moved to England to join the U23 team at Premier League club Watford. [6] He signed a two-year contract, with the option of a further year. [7] While assuming a "leadership role" with the U23 team and captaining the team on occasion, Angelini trained with the first team group and was an unused substitute during three 2021–22 Premier League season matches. [8] He departed the club in January 2023. [8]
On 30 January 2023, Angelini signed an 18-month contract with the B team at Premier League club Brentford, with the option of a further year, following a successful trial. [9] In December 2023, Angelini was an unused substitute during two Premier League matches. [10] He was released when the club declined to take up the option on his contract at the end of the 2023–24 season. [11]
Following a successful trial spell, [12] Angelini signed a two-year contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Riyadh on 3 September 2024. [13] He served as third choice behind Milan Borjan and Abdulrahman Al-Shammari during the 2024–25 season and was an unused substitute during three matches. [10]
In July 2025, Angelini trialled with Waldhof Mannheim and USL Dunkerque. [14] [15]
Angelini was an unused substitute for the Scotland U21 team on four occasions during the 2023–24 season. [16]
Angelini is the grandson of former Celtic footballer and manager David Hay and his father Tommaso was a youth footballer with Lazio. [4] [17] He holds British and Italian citizenship. [2]
