Vincent Selva is an Indian film director and screenwriter associated with the Tamil film industry. [1]

Career

Vincent Selva got associated with film scene in the 1990s. He made his film debut as a director through the romantic thriller film Priyamudan starring Vijay and Kausalya. [2] It was a major hit at box office and had been remade to Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. [3] In 1999, he released his second film, Iraniyan , starred Murali and Meena in lead roles. [4]

In 2002, he directed Youth a film starring Vijay, which was well received by critics and audiences. [5] He was signed on by producer Keyaar to make a film titled Enna Peyar Veikalaam featuring Karthik in the lead role. Despite travelling to Pollachi for the shoot, the actor refused to emerge from his hotel room, and following an extended period of confusion, the film was called off. [6] He worked on Khakee, a police thriller with Sarathkumar in the lead role during 2006, but the film was shelved. Despite attempts to restart the venture in 2008, the film did not finish production. [7] In 2005 he remade the Bollywood film, Gayab to Tamil titled, Jithan . The movie met with commercial success. After the film, he directed the same actor Jithan Ramesh in Madurai Veeran (2007), but it was received negative reviews. Perumal (2009), Thulli Vilayadu (2013) and Inga Enna Solluthu (2014) are other releases.

In 2016, he made a comeback with the sequel of Jithan as a writer and the movie titled Jithan 2 was a major setback. [8] The comedy movie, Virumandikum Sivanandikum once again received mixed reviews. [9]

Pavithran is an Indian film director, who has made many hit Tamil films. He was active primarily in the 1990s collaborating in ventures which often included Sarathkumar in pivotal roles. He was awarded the Tamil Nadu state Kalaimamani award for his works in the film industry. He is known to have made his assistants huge stars in the film Industry. His assistant film directors include S. Shankar, A. Venkatesh, Balaji Sakthivel, Vincent Selva, Saravana Subbiah and many more. He has also introduced stars like Prabhu Deva, Devayani. During the 1990s his movies with newcomers like Sarathkumar, Ajith Kumar, and Vijay, who later became established actors in the industry. He also introduced comedians like Soori and Vimal in his movie Mattuthavani.

Abdul Majith is an Indian film director, producer screenwriter who has worked on Tamil films. He made his directorial debut with the 2002 social drama film, Thamizhan starring Vijay and Priyanka Chopra. He has since worked on lower budget ventures.
