Madurai Veeran is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action romance film directed by Vincent Selva. The film stars Jithan Ramesh and Saloni Aswani. The score and soundtrack are composed by Srikanth Deva. The film is the Tamil remake of the 2001 Telugu film Nuvvu Nenu directed by Teja. Selva and Ramesh previously collobarorated for Jithan (2005) and this film was also successful at the box office. [1] Jithan Ramesh's voice is dubbed by his brother Jiiva.

Plot

Shiva is the only son of a rich businessman. He grows up surrounded by money and he is not cared for by his parents, due to his mother dying when he was a young boy and his father is business-minded and only cares about his money. Shiva and his friends are playful and athletic, and do not study. Priya, who also goes to the same college (the college was created and run by Shiva's family) Shiva attends, is the daughter of a cow herder and a gangster Mayandi. Priya keeps her distance from Shiva, but as the film progresses, they inevitably become friends. Their friendship then develops into romance, but this love is opposed by both their parents. Both their parents try to separate them, they try to get them married of to different people. They eventually run away together, and a hit man is after Priya's life (hired by Shiva's father). In a confrontation with the hit-man, Shiva gets wounded but defeats the hit man, storms into his father's office, and throws the hit-man at him. He then informs his father of his wedding in front of the district court. His father turns up with a large battalion of police officers, while Shiva turns up with a much large number of students. The film ends with their wedding successfully happening, and Mayandi giving his blessings.

Reception

Sify wrote "It is a crass film that drags with plenty of double entendre and inane songs tuned by Sreekanth Deva." [4] Filmibeat wrote "The film is made on a reasonable story, but the way the director presents the story is truly horrible". [5] Chennai Online wrote "The rich guy-poor girl saga finds yet another exposure in 'Madurai Veeran'. With the story taking the predictable line, there is not much that is fresh or exciting here." Ramesh Choudary, also known by his stage name Jithan Ramesh, is an Indian actor and film producer who works in Tamil cinema. He is the third son of film producer R. B. Choudary and elder brother of actor Jiiva. He made his breakthrough with the thriller film Jithan (2005) and has continued to appear in lead roles.

Nepali is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir thriller film written and directed by V. Z. Durai and produced by Rama Saravanan. Rajapattai is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language masala film co-written and directed by Suseenthiran based on a story by Seenu Vasan. The film stars Vikram and Deeksha Seth. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film is produced by Prasad V. Potluri's newly launched PVP Cinema on a budget of 390 million (US$4.9 million). Vincent Selva is an Indian film director and screenwriter associated with the Tamil film industry. This director is best known for his debut flick, Priyamudan starring Vijay, Kausalya. Other directors such as Mysskin and S. P. Jananathan worked under him.

Thottupaar is an Indian Tamil action film written and directed by newcomer K. V. Nandhu and produced by Janaki Sivakumar. The film, which starred Vidharth, Ramana and Lakshana in leading roles, released on 15 October 2010.

<i>Jithan 2</i> 2014 Tamil horror comedy film

Jithan 2 is a 2016 Indian Tamil language horror comedy film directed by Rahul Paramahamsa and written by Vincent Selva. The film is a sequel to Jithan (2005), and stars Jithan Ramesh and Srushti Dange. The film began production in December 2013 and it released on 8 April 2016 to poor reviews. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Pizza 3 in 2018. The film had background score by Yeshwanth Raja. The film received negative reviews from critics.

Thiru Ranga is a 2007 Indian masala film directed by Ravi Bhargavan. The film was produced by A. Selvi and Ch. Sathyanarayana in Tamil and in Telugu, the latter as Julayi. The film stars Santhosh and Ankitha, with Tejashree, Nassar, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Cochin Haneefa and Manivannan playing supporting roles. The Tamil version was released on 11 May 2007 while the Telugu version was released on 31 August 2007.
